i made $16-18/hr doing unskilled factory work 5 years ago in a small town where 1 bedroom rented for $600/month. in an area where rents are $1300-1400 a month, who would even get out of bed for less than $20/hr? these jobs on indeed are full time jobs, too, not part time student jobs.

I never rented a 1br until i was making 60k. Rent was 800 and that was high for me. I never spent mlre than $500 a month. I always lived with room mates. Even if those room mates were complete strangers on craigslist. I wouldnt spend anymore than 800-1k. I would live in black neighborhoods got held but at gun point once. Now i live in 2k a month house with wife. Roaming gangs of "refugees" walk the area. If you want nicer shit close the borders or make more money. My house hold makes 210k/yr .
