So what do we do next after this shitty do-nothing rate hike?
Double-down or wait for the market to burn even further?
Because commodities are still correlating pretty hard with the s&p. The main takeaway from this was that the inflation will just rocket up from here because they can't hike rates past 3%. So we eventually just get hyperinflation but that's still a ways off. So maybe just stay out until the July Fed meeting, that's probably what I'll go with.

I want to see my portfolio get absolutely fucked to -80% or even lower, because I want those cheap stocks.
This commodity market isn't a matter of if but when and these entries are going to be ridiculously good as we still haven't decoupled from the wider markets.
Best part is that the Fed pretty much said that they're going to follow the data and we know the data is going to force them to be even more aggressive because their small raises do fuckall to curtail the inflation, so there's no lasting rally coming to this market for now.
If we're lucky the lows might actually crab for a while and let us accumulate comfortably.

Of course the markets are tied. We have barely started the process of decoupling.
The markets have been completely filled with total retards for the past 15 years, who have never even seen a slight downturn and we're about to witness the repetition of the insane situation of the 70s.
These morons are jumping all over the place and causing volatility.
Also there's the fact that everything is operating on debt. People are selling their assets to cover their asses and stuff like this will cause even inflation resistant things to get fucked initially.
Things are only going to calm down when everyone has been shaken out and when the big money has rotated itself into hard assets.

Just treat it all like a massive buying opportunity. There hasn't been any kind of a breakdown in fundamentals. If anything they're getting stronger by the day, because you simply can't print energy or real production.
Now is just the shakeout period where all frightened money gets kicked out and the really big boys are loading up behind the scenes in all silence.

I thought I'd post some additional observations about the purported gold finding in Uganda. Uganda claims that it has a deposit of 31 million tons of gold ore with an estimated pure gold extraction of 320,000 tons. I think that right there pretty much confirms what I suspected rigth from the start: It's a fraud.

Unless I misunderstand the terminology about what gold ore is, Uganda is claiming that approximatley 1% of the ore is pure gold. Put in other terms, for every 1 ton of earth they dig up, there are 10 kilograms of gold. The typical mining reports I see have mines yielding 8 to 12 grams (0.008 to 0.012 kilograms) per ton of ore processed.

The Uganda numbers are ridiculously high.

its difficult to say but yes i think in the long term were still going to be seeing serious issues with nations and private companies around lithium and the rare earth elements. It will heavily depend on how stable nations remain though, Peru for example has been seeing a lot of localized uprisings to do with resource extraction, what happens to companies who sign agreements with a government but than the nation gets overthrown and a new government or limited government comes in? do you setup a new deal or simply leave?
