You know this won't solve the issue and will guarantee a future Taiwan invasion right? China was buying Russian oil for a while there and probably still is, just more quietly.

The problem is China doesn't have real shit to trade, not much Russia wants/needs. Exports from China to Russia has decreased by roughly 20% this year because it's not an attractive market for Chinese manufactured goods.

You are a retard. Just look at how much trouble Russia is having in Ukraine. Taiwan is a ISLAND, it is heavily forested and mountainous, only a small section of the island is possible to land significant forces on. Taiwan is nuclear capable and in the months it would take China to build up their forces Taiwan could easily prepare a nuclear weapon to defend themselves (if they haven't already). China would have to spend a MILLION men just establishing a beach head. The Sanctions would completely cripple the chinese economy, a economy mind you are NEEDS saudi oil to survive.

China is absolutely FUCKED demographically, it is the fastest aging country on the planet. It would be a miracle if China could remain a united political entity past 2025. Taiwan will unironically take over the important parts of coastal China whilst the rest of the country is taken over by warlords just last in the 20's and 30's.

Now what happens when the reserves are nearly dried up and China invades Taiwan, sparking a hot conflict between the US and China that sees all US exports swiftly cut off, with American manufacturing completely unable to account for the lack of productive capacity and resources needed to keep the economy running, let alone improve supplies related to the conflict?

Water. Water is basically the reason why Britain "gave up" Hong Kong (Britain was in reality forced to surrender HK under duress).

Hong Kong depended on mainland water for a long time, and the neighbor at north quite openly threatened several times that they "might" turn off the tap if the 1997 handover doesn't happen as promised.

Hong Kong tried several things in the previous decades to be water self sufficient (including trying to make a giant reservoir in the ocean) but it didn't work out.

With that in mind, now you know why HK independence in modern times is absolutely impossible and hopeless. Hong Kongers might as well just play nice with Beijing, because they otherwise have no future.
