What do i know ?
FTX runs an aggresive MM algo that will try to hunt high leverage positons with nominal value > 100$.

we can open high lev longs (10x or more) on FTX so the algo will hunt our positons by selling spot on binance, those will be liquidated but it's the price we have to pay in order to make it work.
Longs must be opened again on liq events.

Let's assume this startegy costs me $30K liquidated on FTX, i still have $420k left to buy BTC.
This way we can MM XMR price lower and buy out their bags for cheap because they will try to crash the spot price.

They will try to close their shorts but there is nobody except them selling perp, this mean they will try to close without liquidity.
They won't buy spot since it's against their short position + i made them sell it to me...

They can sell fakes IOUs but how long before binance break the agreement with FTX ?

This implies you completely understand the algorithm. Not saying this doesn't work, but I am not going to play with leverage just so this algorithm has a recursive check per account/movement to see if the longs are simply baiting their bots. Can this work? Yeah. Without complete knowledge of the way it's made to work, it's still just as much of a gamble as other strategies.

They have 2 options:
>liquidate
>pay

They like to liquidate. If there are enough liquidations they will MM the price lower or keep the price flat to earn from fundings.
Futures can only work with a base contract that has no cap to the supply. This is why FTX only list USD perp contracts.

This is a losing business for them, they know it and use these kind of algos to keep their scam going.
