I started learning it and I got much further than I thought I would, the alphabet was weird at first but less daunting than I thought it would be, kanji is obviously annoying but is manageable. I was literally only doing 5 minutes in the morning every day though so I learned faster then expected given the time put in, but I haven't done it for a long time now so I'd have to refresh. I did want to visit Japan at some point but it's obviously not going to happen because I'll fight Godzilla before I wear a mask or get vaxxed. I don't even watch that much anime I just wanted to learn a language and Japanese seemed the most interesting and would be the only one I had any use for.
