>what does "MBS no-bidding" mean?
A bunch of mortgages bundled together is called a mortgage backed security. This is a thing that debt/bond investors like banks, pensions, hedge funds, etc. can bid on (like an auction).

If there's no one willing to pay for this pile of mortgages at a price equivalent to, say, 5.5%, that's what's known as "no bid" and the seller has to change the rate they're offering (say, hiking it to 6% - equivalent to slashing their asking price) until someone *does* bid. That's what that blogpost is talking about.

So a lot of people assume it's priced in. It isn't. The markets were pricing in their expecaltation for how the rate hikes will effect the economy but that can't be done until they are sure the hikes eill happen. Today was the pricing in of the expected rate hikes. Now if the FED goes all in and drops a 100 bpd hammer it will cause things to dump even more however that might satisfy the market and we might recover a bit. This means every time there is a Fed meeting we will see the market fucking die as rate hikes are priced in.

The market is pricing in a 75 bps increase.
The market knows a 75 bps increase is necessary.
However Jerome Powell said last time that a 75 bps increase is off the table.
This would make Jerome Powell a liar if he increases by 75 bps... and the prime directive of Jerome Powell is that he shall not do an increase without hinting about it 3-4 Fed meetings in advance.
We are about to see what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object.

I just don't get it. Why the fuck did things dump today and Friday after literally 8 weeks of red, in a 6+ month downtrend? Seriously, who the fuck is still selling? Retail doesn't move the market, Big Money can literally pick which direction they want the market to move and make it happen. Why do they want it to continuously sell off? Nice digits. Man, that was a big gamble. You’re just going to have to wait it out or lose. If I were you, I’d open a new account with a big dog like Fidelity or Ameritrade and start over with a new portfolio of blue chips or a solid index and just forget about that account for a couple of years. Just google the price once in a while to see if it’s time to close out. Looking at it everyday isn’t going to do you any good.
I like to gamble in goofy shit sometimes, but I do it in a separate account so I don’t get squirrelly with price action. It’s a psychological thing, but it works for me.

I too have had this but to a smaller degree. Nearly all decisions I've made when it comes to investments, employment, and women have been a failure.

>investments
Opposite of whatever I choose happens no matter how good my theory is on why a stock will move one way only to reverse the moment I sell. Become too scared to do anything, all my theories get proven left and right. I'd be up like 30% had I gone through with my low risk plan. 5x if I went with the high risk thing I was toying with. Second one would've gotten me my entire loss back and more. Most of which I'd immediately cash out and quickly begin buying assets/formulating ideas of where to stick it (not stocks) before it ends up being the weong scenario of choising casg and stocks because a hyperinflation scenario began. Only to get screwed again where I end up thinking I finally won life changing sums only for it to hyperinflate.

>employment
Made the mistake of going to college and taking a bunch of garbage jobs that really only helped for income but never helped for getting a job that truly required a degree.

>women
Never had a gf, any time I did try I failed. Any time women approached me it was usually ugly ones who didn't feel all that interested but rather desperate for whatever they could get.

>Housing market is still going to shit the bed though, right?
Not like it did in 08 from where I’m standing. I worked in real estate back then. I would argue with my boss all the time about giving people loans they clearly couldn’t afford. She wanted me to go stated on everything. Though even after leveling with these retards on what was in their best interest, they still went through with stated and an option arm.
Banks haven’t been irresponsible with lending like that lately. People will get laid off and have to sell, but if a person doesn’t buy it, some firm will.
We’re only paying on average around 4.5x yearly salary for homes in the US. It’s 11x in Canada and double that in some other countries. Basically real estate is still relatively “cheap” compared to the global market.
