>Im one of the people who got rekt by celsius. Lost about 20k. Looking to gold for wealth preservation for my future. Do you guys mostly buy the gold coins from one of the sites in the OP? Or the bars?

Depending where you're from matters when buying precious metals, but here's a noob guy guide:

1. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is.
2. There's spot price and then there's premium price. Under 10% premium is a good deal. However in recent times the premiums on silver have gone through the roof, you won't get new silver coins below 30% so gold is currently the better investment.
3. Precious metals aren't about getting rich, they're a hedge against fiat for survival in economic downturn and a comfy living in your old again when you sell.
4. If you're in the UK, get gold or silver Britannias as they are capital gains tax free. Gold coins are VAT free as well.
5. Buy from Royal Mint if you don't know who to trust. You pay a little more premium for piece of mind.
6. Don't talk about your precious metals stash in public loosely as someone might hear making you a target to rob.
7. Modern Britannias come with a load of security features making it very difficult for them to be counterfeit. That will also make them easier to sell in the future

the OP is a good first stop for the most common countries in here, if you are from somewhere else definitely check those prices.
Bars run the danger of being brass, and if someone steals even one of them it's a great loss. You also won't be able to exchange it well in the (unlikely, BUT) SHTF scenario, precisely because of the brass rumors.
Well known coins are easily checked for their correct measurements (diameter, weight), recognized and security features as the other anon pointed out.
Speaking from Germany, we currently don't mint any gold as far as I know (everything we mint right now is ugly as shit and they put PLASTICS in the coins) so I went with some established internationals, picrel.
I paid 1638€ for the krug and 1732€ for the maple, both 1-2% over spot which is quite fair.
Silver is for smaller denominations. This is when you think we might end up in hyperinflation, I find that to be quite likely myself so I invested quite a bit. I asked my uncle who is a farmer what he'd take for food in a hyperinflation scenario, his answer was "ammo, gold, silver, maybe gasoline. for our family, you guys can live here and just work, we'll feed you and teach you how to shoot to make the looters fuck off".

well this is what im doing right now, and i think its worth saying so that someone else might do the same as well
metal can ring-pulls. theyre great for tallying things, for a few reasons. theyre a great way of having an abacus
>why
scenario: you buy a gold coin or fossil, whatever it is you buy
you go out after (storing it etc.) and buy a canned drink. now, for each thing you buy, you have "one to the tally" at home; your collection - more valuable than these ringpulls - doesnt have to be at home - but it still is, in this form. this is one of the reasons for it being good
another reason is that its still metal and so it still has scrap value/resale to mix in with your metal cans (aluminium)
i think that this amount is enough for tallying almost anything. each ringpull can equal 1, 10, 100, pennies, pounds, notes

its also aesthetic and feels good to hold a stack of them

we stackign

at some point when youre happy with the # of ringpulls you have, you can start to profit from them, by mixing them in with the cans. i like to put a lot of them into one can as im crushing them up to store, and a few ringpulls "here and there" into the individual cans (which would carry just 1 or 2 ringpulls). this adds weight to the cans and increases their value
those 0.001 $ of value added to the metal stack will add up, and will be something to compare against in your stack of ringpulls. so, holding them will provide you with some increase in profits, before you even scrap them all off at the end of it
its short term vs long term and if you store 1 ringpull in a can per 5 ringpulls you have (for example) you can say well, theres 5 ringpulls in cans already, increase-ing their weight and adding profit to the collection. thats before you even sell any

its good. i have a few hundred metal cans stored, and to take them to the scrap yard it would cost petrol (for transport). so with these (few hundred) ringpulls in the cans i have stored, stored throughout, i can wait until theres a few $ worth of them, to "pay" for petrol, while theyre also useful (as an abacus)
and at the scrapyard i can take credit for my cans (if i dont just melt down the cans myself), and have a look through the yard and buy things there with this credit. this converts the metal cans to gold!

ill always leave something withchem when i leave em. when i leave them cans ill leave with them some metal ringpulls, to increase profits
i like to (with other things) leave HDDs in with the things i store or whatever. say i have some other stack, and i put them in storage, ill leave a HDD in there because they cost just $5 and its a good heavy chunk of metal and magnets, or even storage, if the storage is short-term enough (10 years or so)

all of you laugh at them, and (this means too) the burglars wont steal them. thats why theyre great
i call them my beans and i could them (the beans)

its a good way to keep an amount of your precious metals at home with you, so you know how many there are. because, for every coin you buy, you can buy a can of drink and keep the pull
they would steal your gold, but not these. thats the beauty of it
while, for you, these would be valuable, because they have sale values and you already have some ringpulls in the other stacks (to increase profits) so, overall, theyre worth a few $s
do you see now?

>There's spot price and then there's premium price. Under 10% premium is a good deal. However in recent times the premiums on silver have gone through the roof, you won't get new silver coins below 30% so gold is currently the better investment.
So you're saying because silver physical supply is drying up and spot price is clearly bullshit you should do what the market makers and manipulators want and buy gold instead, because if you want to turn around and sell it tomorrow you'll lose less money
The case for silver is overwhelming, the only mark against it is that the market has been irrational longer than investors have been able to remain solvent and it's blackpilling a lot of get rich quick stackers. If you plan to hold for 5+ years you want a good proportion in silver.

Thanks anon yes it's illegal here too. But there has been talk of phasing out 1ps for a while now and if CBDCs come it could also result in the coins become obsolete and therefore no longer legal coinage.

Even if they don't, if the price rises by enough then an underground black market would emerge for smelting the coins, which would be pretty much impossible to crack down on.

this almost always ends up being "deface with intention to mislead/falsify value". in the united states, its this way. you can cut up pennies, carve holes, make art out of them, but (yes this is impossible, but) defaced a penny to make it look like a dime, then youve committed a crime.
since you cant really deface a coin to look like another coin, you never hear about this, only in the context of people making 1$ bills into 100$s

i guess, but thinking more specifically about it now, that just keeps you self sufficient, your not really gaining wealth, which in itself is a different thing.
having 20,000 rounds is useful, you can trade it or...use it, but unless you become a raider, your not really making a bigger pile.
i guess im thinking like, (and i know this really isnt that feasible ) but instead of stocking ammo, stock the equipment/tools and skill to make MORE ammo.

like, lets say it gets so bad that cased ammo seriously just runs out. if you had learned how to make your own gunpowder, and to make rifled barrels and how to melt metal down to make actions and stuff, your prep plan could be "become the source and thus seller of firearms". maybe invest into some really good homebrewing equipment. instead of just getting by, now your using apples and natural resources to make and sell good hooch.

Kek, That's exactly what I have planned. I've been homebrewing for 2-3ish years now. We got plans to put some bee hives on the property we just bought. Also there is an apple or pear tree we plan on adding more though.
If you keep growing all the prep gear you can you will eventually have enough to trade at least something for anything else you may need.

right, but i mean, that box, the stuff the bees deposit it into, those flat sheets you pull in and out. how much of it do you need to replace, are there pesticides or something you need to keep other insects away, do you need some chemical to attract the queen, and: if there are elements you do need to get from a store, what are they and how hard would it be to stockpile them? how long would you last starting tonight, just keeping your bees going, if you couldnt leave the property nor have anything sent in?

the tools are pretty basic: thick clothes, waterproof gloves, brush, small prybar, smoker
don't need special smoker filler, regular leaves/twigs/sawdust is fine
you buy the bees usually with the queen or buy queen separate. if you want to attract a wild swarm, lemongrass oil attracts the queen. if you want to find a hive, get a little box with a wooden top flap. you walk up to bee on flower and grab him. like so: https://youtu.be/EAt0pkag9YY

NEVER USE PESTICIDES, even if you don't own bees!
if you have pest issues, research companion planting and the issues of monocropping!
if you must, neem (tea tree / manuka) oil can be sprayed on most plants. alliums (garlic/onion) keep away insects as well. you can also get stuff like anise hyssop to attract insect predators. vinegar will keep away mammals
other issues even after companion planting is the actual health of the plant. make sure the soil is good but NEVER USE MINERAL FERTILIZERS! use compost (also look into green:brown ratios), especially in autumn (for winter snowmelt percolation). if trees loose their leaves (especially small trees), DO NOT brush them away. it is protecting its roots. Crop rotations are necessary and helpful ways to 1) avoid soil degredation, 2) fixate some nutrients (legumes add nitrogen to soil), and 3) confuse pest populations that build up in one area year to year

you fell for the worst reddit meme, depending on what you think will happen there are essentially two choices:
a) the miners you bought will go under and stop operation = sell
b) the miners will continue mining = unironically buy more to bring down your average cost
Something will happen with silver within a year or two, Demand will go up now with Europe moving away from russian fossil fuels, I suspect we'll have another june/july 2020 jump. Once it happens, miners will knee-jerk up as well. Sell at the top and never buy that shit again

it only gets botulism if its been pasteurized then mishandled. buy raw. milk too. pasteurization is a scam so big business can ship you estrogen-laced milk from across the country and break local economies and small business. just look how retarded some laws are.
>the fuck you mean I can't sell this milk? what, okay so after much desire to sell raw milk I finally can but I need to go through all these processes and I can't even separate the milk from cream? But I can if I'm selling products made from those creams?
its all bullshit
raw honey helps prevent allergies by what is essentially homeopathy but actually works and is not a scam. pasteurized milk is the only reason white people can be lactose intolerant. formula-fed as babies and then pasteurized milk, never drank anything raw. raw milk has lactase enzymes (AND many other proteins such as immunity --> thats why you should'nt vaccinate kids when they are babies (though JEWS do!!!)
>OY VEY GOYIM don't look up hepatitis B vaccines given to newborns and how a large % of them just die (some get resucitated).
many nurses opt out for their own babies. Hep B is a fucking STD why would a baby need that?? because hospitals are deathhouses. hear about that girl who died because there was MRSA on a wall in her hospital room?
>OY VEY GOYIM don't look up antibiotic abuse (picrel)
if you can't tell I hate jews

okay back to raw milk: the lactase enzymes help you digest the lactose for you (like your microbiome gut does to foods too (you know your farts are actually theirs?)). now there are these lactase tablets you take to help these unfortunate souls continue to drink the lifeless white, fatty, homogenized water
lactose-free milk is just the same pasteurized milk-mater where they've gone and just fucking MIXED THE TABLETS into it! read the label!

I should also mention raw milk tastes fucking incredible.

I agree about Antibiotics, I almost died from Antibiotic overuse that developed into a 6 month long C Diff infection. No doctor I saw could even diagnose the random diarrhea I was having for half a year, except a really smart nutritionist that got me on Probiotics that cleared it right up.
But is Pasteurization really a scam? Honest question. It was invented by Louis Pasteur hence the name and it's a pretty old process. I also know Parasites from milk are a pretty real threat too, how do you avoid that without pasteurizing? Chill the milk until they freeze to death?

yes. I've gotten quite a lot, about a gallon per year per topbar hive (langroth/warre get more, also more hives is just better. you can even split them if you notice a splinter swarm coming in (little pockets in the comb where the new queen will emerge from)
picrel was last year. granted this was technically like 2 years of honey b/c I go to my gf's mom's house far away and there was quarantine. but 2 individual harvest should be like 30% more than this. better to do every year. have to make sure to save enough for them for winter. i happened to use to do in May but this last happened to be in august and logically I think that is better
I'm sick of the taste because for the wax part I used to suck the honey out. dumbass me realized finally last year I could just rinse under sink and dry (before melting to candles)
also since it isn't langstroth and I don't have a centrifuge I have to extract the honey by hand. dumb me would crush and scrape but better way is cutting the caps of and place in strainer to just sit for a while. flip repeat, crush repeat. drain the crushed stuff separate and put in more fresh comb to drain. honestly pretty easy, just took a few days. plus only had a few strainers/bowls

>>49602763
oh damn that's a nice mockup
>>49603098
fucking nice man! you figure what hive you want yet?

BTW for the both of you. hives range from most natural for bees (less/difficult harvest) to easiest for humans (less happy bees -> might swarm?)
natural sun hive <--> topbar hive <--> warre hive <--> langstroth hive artificial

picrel was from topbar. topbar and warre have same interior, but different shape if that makes sense.
topbar is like a trough on legs with wide lid. langstroth is sterotypical box, warre is box but with design detail nicer for bees. also doesn't separate the queen in lower boxes like langstroth. bees naturally put the honey separate from brood so its not hard you don't need 'em.

sorry to hear man. sometime pills are learned the hard way
good question and reminds me of what I wanted to mention anyway:

pasteurization kills bacteria (heat doesn't really rid toxins btw so you can't just sterilize something that's gone bad, but that's all food and not my point). so pasteurization is to get rid of bacteria then you seal it before anything can get in (like canning!). it'll improve the shelf life a lot, (honestly I don't know by how much b/c theoretically it should be forever but obviously not). but that shelf life is only good for canning (and even then fermentation is probably safer/better for you so you don't kill yourself with accidental botulism.
noone needed that extended shelf life on milk because people had cows/sheep/goats/human mothers, then we had milkmen who gave you fresh milk from the town dairy every day and people drank it and got more. then comes the industrial food complex. they want to ship tons and tons of produce and foods and milk from around the country. from california to northeast so people there get almonds and pineapples and shit that IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE THERE for a fucking reason. imagine if you lived somewhere and decided to make it like a different area just for your hedonistic inflexible desires, altering the spiritu-physiological region and complex biomes (that includes you and the one in your gut! you insufferable city-dweller) ((imagine deciding to live in a desert but then pump in water from surrounding areas turning your city and the rest of the state into a desert- oh, hi Los Angeles!)

so they ship you exotic food and you alter the unique biome you exist as a part of. sure some things are OK within reason like dry goods and spices. but not tropical fruits and stuff. there's a reason countries don't let you travel internationally with produce

In the UK they both have the same exclusive benefits in that they're legal tender so you don't pay capital gains tax and both are gold meaning you don't pay VAT. With the pure gold 24K coin you can easily figure out what the spot price is by just watching its market value without having to do any calculations. Sovereigns are 22K gold with 8.4% copper. This gold-copper alloy makes the coin much stronger compared to the pure gold coin which is soft. Because the sovereign is an alloy they're much cheaper than pure gold coins. A double sovereign is roughly the same size as a 1oz gold coin so if you want a size similar to that get the double sovereigns. With it being an alloy you won't get the same golden luster as a pure gold coin, but then the question becomes what you want out of bullion. BTW the 2022 sovereign (in your image) is a limited edition platinum jubilee coin. These will be very sort after in the future as there may never be another British monarch that reaches 70 years service ever again.

Plus you can get different types so you can get obsessed with getting particular ones. Obviously you could get more value for money if you just bought all Britannias. But it’s more fun to get a couple then mix and match your sovs. With the money you’ve got, I’d enjoy getting a mix of sovs. Like young Lizzie, a Victoria etc from different years. You could push older if you cared but you’d be paying an extra £200 just to hit up the 1800s and your probs just going for a decent mix of maximising your gold whisltvhaving a bit O fun collecting.

pasteurization is required if you want to take life-giving milk, strip it of all its wonder, bottle it and send it across the country, keeping it in fridges for weeks. Remember when we had milkmen? bringing you food to your door for no effort on your part? you NEETs could have had that but no! INDUSTRY MAKES ME SICK! say it! REMEMBER THE MOTHS!
