Seeds? Fertilizer? Fuel?
In a food shortage it's somewhat imperative to stay alive to see future gainz, imho

photos are shit because i cant get good lighting, but pic related is what i am trying to ID. Its an unidentifiable red mineral, growing in proximity to cosalite, pyrite, possible gold and arsenopyrite.

Matrix is quartz, found on a well mineralized contact zone associated with gold associated with the above minerals. As far as i can tell, hardness of 7-8, semi translucent, I cant tell yet what the shape of the crystal is, i am looking through i micro lens right now. More pics in a bit, i have a bunch of samples being worked on in acid to remove iron oxide. The closest i can get is this Galenabismutite but this isnt semi transparent https://www.mindat.org/min-1642.html

another sample as well, i actually discovered the oxidized pyrite contained dendritic micro gold after acid bath, but the crystals were too fragile to move and collapsed after i disturbed the sample. A real shame.

Fascinating! Thanks for taking the time to photo and share!

You say red semi-translucent and I think ruby silver, ruby zinc, or cinnabar, but only because that's all we have here that fits the bill. Those are some nice looking crystals you got.

>>49573845
the issue is their very hard, not soft like a lot of sulfosalt style crystals you find with sulfide hosted mineralization. I may have to send a sample off for IDing in Victoria for a proper ID.

might even have something new, but that's unlikely. It's nothing I recognize but there's a crapload of minerals I don't know by sight.

>> No.49573943

its possible its a little discussed silver sulfide, it would make sense with what was deposited nearby. It would be very fun to find out its something totally new.

that's really hard for a metal salt. Let us know when you get it nailed down.
