I ve always wanted to go to Brazil or South America in general and prospect for precious stones, ametrine especially because its such a stunning contrast in its natural state. It really is a shame only one or two mines were ever found. Tanzanite is one i am also in love with, and yea its nearly impossible to find an "as is specimen now which is a shame. Sapphires are something I ve been actually looking out for locally, as well as emeralds, as a very odd intrusive structure was recently discovered west of Prince George BC, which matches a similar set of showings in my neck of the woods. Both stones were noted as well as aquamarines as well! I could easily see a western gemstone rush if gem quality forms are discovered.

A lot more people are choosing colored stones for engagement rings In the last 20 years as they rightly should top color spinel absolutely destroys diamond in looks and sapphire for instance is 20 times rarer part per million on the surface of the earth but diamonds do have their place

It was extremely hard even for me to convince my missus to go colored for our engagement rings

I liked the previous version more. I don't think a SS black uniform will look that good on a silver coin. The military uniform with the ol'prussian flair was better and it allowed Apu to be bigger, here the cap eat to much space and the design is far less balanced. Text position is weird.

I use the charts someone listed here for coins based on weight and the spot value. I only tend to bid up to that plus postage. It’s tedious to do the snipe style. I like the auction action due to being a boomer so I enjoy small increments on bidding to close to spot then back off completely and watch the coin sell for 3 times what I’d pay a week later. Occasionally see really cool stuff. I’ll be winning in for £10 then it’ll end for £160. That always amuses me, but it’s the job lots of florins etc that have an obvious higher value. I’m just waiting on a shitty antique fair to hit up and buy shit off someone who has no clue.

Also dislike people flooding eBay with “silver jubilee crowns” to try and trick people into thinking the silver is silver content and it’s not worth like 75p. For me, postage is part of the cost of the coin(s).
If someone sell a coin at a fair price of 9 but shipping is 1.5 then I will make an offer at 7.5 which is a massive negative premium on the coin value. 99.999% of my offer are rejected, I don't really care because those 00.001% make up for it.


As for the scams, I hate cunts that mix silver and nickel coins in their bundles and pretend to sell silver. People who sell .400 silver as .900 silver, or people who simply sell nickel as silver.
I saw that quite a lot with the Swiss 5Frs coin. The 1968 version of the coin is made of nickel, and there is a few guys out there describing it as "silver" OR selling those at silver price. I suppose most of them are clueless but there might be legitimate fraudsters. It's even trickier because the 1969 version was silver.

Not changing the font back to gothic. The current font is Fraktur, which is what is used on the actual RM. It definitely SHOULD go up by any "reasonable" metric but other countries value their fiat currency against gold as well. If they wanted gold to go up they would've done so. Considering most gold is hoarded in bank vaults around the world I don't think one country alone has that much impact.
But I did notice gas, one of the biggest assets the US dollar is pegged to went up a dollar right around when the fed stopped publishing their M1 money supply reports in Feb 2021. I don't think Biden stopping a pipeline from being built was what made gas go up by an entire dollar right after he was inaugurated. Not sure about that, for example when i ship from here home country is a fixed rate, EU is a fixed rate and everywhere else is also a fixed rate.
Some random shithole exceptions (Chile for whatever reason) apply, but it doesn't matter if i send something to USA, Japan, South Africa for example.
