Meanwhile the guy who dropped out of highschool to stack boxes at 19K/year seven years ago was promoted several times and now makes 100K per year as a store manager with ZERO college debt. Karma!

Didn't want to buy a house because it felt like a poor decision being house poor
>Promoted to manager making $100k
Can't buy a house because I will be house poor, and I literally can't even buy one unless I am willing to pay thousands over asking.

My 65k gig just gave me a 30% adjustment this year. It's already gone to inflation but damn it still felt good.

Ideally you start off with a degree, even an associates, and try to get an internship so you can jump over help desk
If you don't have a degree, you could just focus on grinding out some entry level certs, building a home lab, and getting a help desk job. Grind some more, focus on a more specialized field and intermediate level cert and move in up to sysadmin. Fair warning, the traditional sysadmin is dying. To modernize, you need to also learn scripting and automation.
