Why are some anons angry about ETH merge?
If it really happens and is good, ETH will moon and flip Bitcoin for good.
If it is shit, ETH will rapidly die and other PoS coins will follow.
How do emotions come into play here? Just position a percentage of your poorfolio to ETH according to your beliefs in this and... that is it. Simple af situation.

I do not want ETH to go away from PoW.
Why the fuck am I building on it then? I build on Eth + L2 for its insane security. If it goes PoS then I should fuck off to Algorand because it's superior in every possible ways.
Ethereum should not go PoS because ETH 2 sucks and even Cardano does it better.

PoW is less secure against 51% attacks for example.
With PoS after the 51% attack the community can make a rollback and destroy the stakes of the attacker and continue without him. With PoW you can't destroy the superiority of the attacker and he can repeat the attack many times.
Of course a rollback is a last resort but it's there as an option and it create incentives for good behavior. Defi is about the will of the community and not about the technology. The technology is just a tool to achieve our goals.

I think you are downplaying this. If you invested in ETH, this is a big deal, and most people who have been in crypto at least a year, own some ETH. The merge has a 50/50 chance in my mind of going bad and even after the merge your ETH will be locked indefinitely and TPS will not be increased. The security of Ethereum is good now and this change has the possibility of nuking the entire chain. For that reason, and several others, I sold my ETH for LINK and CNDL.

For a supposedly decentralized network the main eth devs are now selecting to fuck miners, who btw, have secured the network for last 8 years or so.

I think the merge on mainnet will be an absolute shit show. Miners basically got told to fuck off and their days are numbered at this point. They have absolutely no reason to be good actors and just peacefully allow the merge to occur. Some autist already front ran the merge on a test net and caused eth to drop 10% or something.
