IPO Success! Open at 4810 JPY. Price has climbed since.
2D avatars streaming on youtube and bilibili has a market cap of appx $500 million USD.
Company: Anycolor Inc
TSE code 5032
Watch trading live until lunch break:

Major shareholders still have restrictions on sale.
Will you short your oshi, anon? Or will you hold her bags?

What?
Could you explain a bit more?
I watched Hololive until the Taiwan incident, but Nijisanji didn't look like a good investment.
Do you have metrics on their profits and the reason for this IPO?

It would probably be a good idea to short it after the initial hype dies down.
I can't trade a unique candle...
That's even worse gambling than holding Luna.

Apr 2022 FY profit: ~$15,335,531 USD
these numbers are pretty good. Let's see how they do in post-covid though
>>49470288
>the reason for this IPO?
Because they've done two seed rounds previously and the VCs want to start to be able to sell off, basically. Selling to public (via listed stock) is obviously a good idea for the best price.

>>49470556
At what price did the VCs buy if they want to dump on retail?

There is currently a high inflation incoming to Japan which may impact the purchasing power of the fans from the country.
The last number would give them a PER of 35-36.
Tech stocks on the Nasdaq are currently getting annihilated.
Wouldn't that affect this too?

Statistically the majority of IPOs are sold too high and cause losses when bought in the initial phase.
The question is if the vtubers can shill their own stocks to their fans to pump it.

HAHAHAHA well, according to my calculations...

I couldn't find actual figures for seed round but we have for series A and B rounds..
approx 17,182,000 shares not owned by CEO, CFO or employees. Based on prospectus figure of CEO div by % shareholding for total shareholding then multiply by remainder % shareholding, less CFO, employee holdings.
We are told at least 3bn JPY of funding, so take that divided by 17,000,000 equals approx share worth of 175JPY per share.
Lets say that Seed round was more, say total funding was 5bn. That's still like 300 yen per share. A pittance to what it is trading at now. Given those seed and A+B rounds are still restricted from trading (largely), you tell me whether it's overblown lol

How do I invest in this which trading platform is it on?
One thing to note though it has a. 300m m.cap which is really high for a media company, that has better competition

What about it? strong open possibly indicates hype from public who weren't able to get into the IPO. It should be pretty volatile for several days.
The 11:30 onwards weirdness is because prease understandu, Japanese salaryman/daytrader get very hungry, stock exchange goes on mandatory lunch break from 11:30 to 12:30pm

Imagine front running the VCs and shorting before they can sell.
Wouldn't that be fun?

Anycolor is going to be a weird stock because fans might buy it like merch rather than an investment. Hololive would be exactly the same way. I can envision people buying the stock just to own a share of their oshi's company. "Core" vtuber fans have high levels of engagement and brand loyalty.
In general I think they're being outcompeted overall by Hololive these past 2 years or so despite whatever is going on with the Salami desu wa lady. On the other hand, I'd say Hololive is in a bit of a slump period with some key talent out sick, on leave, or reducing their streaming frequency.

sorry I meant underwriting and offering/opening price.
IPO explains page 6/168
>1 [Shares to be offered (underwritten and sold by the Underwriters)]
>The shares will be sold at an underwriting price to be determined on 31 May 2022, to the financial instruments dealers set out in "2 Conditions of the Offering (the "Underwriters") who will enter into a primary underwriting agreement with the Company.
>The Underwriters will make a secondary offering at a price that differs from such underwriting price (the selling price, the same price as the issue price).
>The Underwriters will pay the total amount of the underwriting price to the Sellers on the share delivery date, and the Underwriters will purchase the shares at the same price as the underwriting price.
>The difference between the underwriting price and the total selling price in the offering by way of underwriting by the Underwriters will be the proceeds of the Underwriters.
>The Seller will not pay any underwriting fee to the Underwriters.
So the Sumitomo group that did the underwriting will take the winnings.

The japanese learned that lesson years ago with UUUM whose 57% revenue depended on adsense and crashed when payouts were slashed. Anycolor stated in their slides that YouTube is only part of their income and they have merchandising, advertising and event sales as a significant but alternative revenue source made possible by IP ownership of the vtubers "character".
