Maybe the pandabashing is FUD but I've seen gobs of chinese fakes over the years, some are quite good. I haven't really seen many with convincing wear and don't remember any fakes with light circulation dings, which this Peso seems to display on the obverse and rim. Not a "reputable" dealer as they would never sell it for less than 100 but no red flags either, probably just someone selling a coin grandpa gave them too cheap. The price of everything has got me fucking spooked instead of shorting stonks I'm going to start buying physical silver I make 400$ a week after I pay off some debt this month I plan on spending atleast 400$ a month on silver what is the best advice for a stacklet in terms of what I should buy starting out? From what I understand bars are more fakeable than coins so I should buy coins but I'm not really sure what type of coin to get or if it even matters.

>> No.49459404

>>49459282
My personal recommendation is buy as close to spot as you can until you get to around 80-100oz of silver. This means mainly generic bars and rounds, with higher-weight bars generally having lower premiums. Every 20oz or so of generic I buy a numismatic piece to keep the demon at bay, but mainly care about weight:cost. If you're buying from your LCS you won't need to worry about getting fakes, as they would go out of business quickly if word got out they were doing such a thing.

>> No.49459515

>>49459282
There are two major kinds of stacks, broadly speaking: weight and collectible. If you're stacking for weight, which it sounds like you are, you're going to be buying the cheapest options available for their metal content. This usually means generic rounds, maple leafs, or UK brits. ASEs (american silver eagles) generally command a higher premium than other coins for a couple reasons, but, broadly speaking, you should stick to whatever you can get on the cheap. We have a guy here who gets his metal for under spot because he's amazing at slurping cheap scrap silver off estate sales and the like and then refining it into .999, but that takes skill and dedication.

Kind of. Something that might be reliably blue chip might be very volatile in the extreme short term due to current events. You have to understand that traders like him arent just buying/selling. He's also making calls, puts, trading on margin, shorting longing etc. A particular stock youre trading against might go up 10 cents, liquidate your position and then go down. You might have been correct in assuming it would go down but if its too volatile it can go up or down at a moments notice. Just because the risk indicator is red for a week straight doesnt mean the stocks wont pump

In my experience at gun shows and in LCS's, old people enjoy talking to younger guys who are into the same hobbies as them. It makes sense, seeing your hobby passed on to the younger generations and all. If you display a genuine interest and let them chat your ear off you may make some fascinating connections, and at the very least you'll probably learn something about the hobby. I'm white and 30ish as well, and most (98%) of the boomers that go to these kinds of things also appear to be white, so let that mean what you will.

I haven't either, but I'm imagining it will be a similar atmosphere to gun shows. I go to gun shows expecting to see most booths with outrageous prices, and therefore I don't walk in expecting to spend too much. My LCS owner has had a booth at the Summer FUN before and he told me there isn't a single gold/silver anything that you can't find at it, so if you have your eyes on a unique piece you can't find on online then this may be the spot you locate it, just prepare to haggle/accept a high price. Again I've never been, so just my expectation.

low quality bait. for the record, it's a way to get enough assets to the 'other side' so you don't starve following a period of hyperinflation - an insurance policy you hope you don't have to use.
in the less extreme scenario of 70s-style stagflation, metals performed really well compared to assets like stocks. it's your money, do what you want with it.

Coins are a known conduit of anxious energies released by the autistic, and thus soothe our minds. We have to keep buying more though because the coins fill up pretty quickly and start leaking the energies. That's why we put them in capsules so the aspergers won't start emitting out. And since in the collapse there won't be any 4chan for us to release our autism coins are going to be really needed. You should be thankful we're protecting you from autism beams.

Morons let me explain how mentally retarded you are. Gold is worthless.
Gold is worthless in society collapses. Nobody uses gold in Weimar. Nobody uses gold in Venezuela. Nobody "held gold" in Weimar and "got rich" after because physical gold is a scam and nobody will buy it.
Nobody uses gold in the Black Death. Nobody used gold when Rome collapsed. All the gold stores are outside the empire because it's useless. The gold standard does not stop wars and the largest war in history was fought in the gold standard. The gold standard died because of the trade deficit, it impairs trade and not the budget deficit.
But that's not the point. The point is the stock market simply must die. Boomers live 70 years. 2% of the stock market must be sold every year for estate taxes.
It's impossible for the stock market to exceed 50x gdp. Because taxes are half, and yearly fluctuation is half, is impossible for the stock market to exceed 3x gdp or whatever people actually spend.
30% of the economy is healthcare. 10% is finance paid by interest on other things. 10% is retail. 10% is admins. 20% is government. That leaves only 30% of the economy as actual household expenditure. It's simply impossible for the stock market to exceed what people actually spend by a large multiple because estate tax and lawyers must take it when boomers die.
Us gdp is 20 trillion. The stock market is 49 trillion and bonds are 46. Real estate is 40 trillion and commercial is 16. All these assets added together are 7x gdp.
It's simply impossible for the market to keep growing when the fed is contracting. You will die at last and gold will be worthless. You'll die of peak oil in 6mo. /pmg/ is a retard board and will ignore.

Precious metals are stupid. First, they are worthless with no industrial applications that copper can't do better. At the rate they're being mined, and with how much is left in the Earth's crust, they will be worthless by 2030. I mean you will literally be able to get paid hauling silver out of people's basements. Second, asteroid mining is coming which will easily quadruple the supply. Third, you CANNOT EAT gold or silver, and they will be completely worthless in the event of a collapse. You will be trading a 10oz bar of gold for a box of .22LR to hunt squirrels for meat if you're lucky, more likely for a small bag of dried rice. In my experience you get treated way better. If you're there near closing or on the last day know that some dealers are much more willing to haggle and sell cheap just to move inventory and boost their cash flow than they will be on opening day morning. If you're bringing a decent wad to blow either way you should at least try to get some discounts if not outright cheapies.

If the diamond monopoly just adopts lab grown, crushes the competition, and stays a monopoly thereby keeping prices artificially high, the consumers don't get it any better. If the diamond monopoly is toppled, you'd still get children miners out of a job (until they get hired making iPhones or something), but the diamond prices should drop for the consumers.

It's impossible for them to monopolize now, the tech is going to get better/cheaper and with carbon being one of the most abundant elements in the world you wouldn't be able to hoard it either. You would have to convince the entire world governments that you are to be the only source of diamonds. It's over for these diamond mines, they are already terminal just on that 2017 synthetic diamond alone.

>is it acheter-or-argent?
Yes
>I ordered over a month ago and it's just shipped today literally
Really? That's weird i never got any issue dealing with them, i ordered a dozen times from them over the years and never had to complain. I often had to wait between 3 days and a week, but never more.
That said, as long as you receive your order safely, it's all that matter. I mean 1 month is a bit slow i admit, but it could be worse.

For example i bought during the march 2020 dip 4x 5kg bars from achat-or-argent and it was the WORST experience ever. I had to threaten them with a legal lawsuit before they accepted to deliver my stuff. I got them in fucking november 2020. 9 fucking MONTHS before i could get my hands on what i paid for.
And they called me countless times asking me to cancell my order under all kind of fallacies, then proposed me to buyback my order. At first for 500€, then 1K, then 2K, then 2.5K, then 3K... lol!
These fuckers sold way more metals than what they had in stocks and it backfired big time during the early scamdemic run on gold and silver.
On top of that, all online sellers had their calculating algos being (spot+1.5/2€ premium per oz), and when it plunged for a day to $12 is when i went all in. Got 20kg for 14€/oz. But they themselves couldn't order at those prices later on as it bounced back very quickly, and they had to modify their price algos afterward to avoid this situation in the future. But this one day, big stores lost a shit ton of money.

Anyway, always refused their offers. Always told them to fuck off and gimme my shiners.
In the end, they didn't even send me the bars, i had to move to their store to get it, and it wasn't even the bars i asked for! But at this point i simply was happy to get my hands on the metal and gave up asking for the brand i ordered.
I left the worst evaluation possible on every consoomer website i could find tho. :)

Never buy from achat-or-argent fren.

>exorbitant prices
>spot few cents away from being lower than extraction's costs for primary silver miners
Giving no space to breathe for the mining industry is accelerating your downfall, rabbi. Worst tactic ever unless you are all-in shorting silver miners.

If i were you i'd relieve some pressure on spot price, let say around $27-28, just enough to incentivize miners to open new mining operations so the offer could be in line with demand, but not enough to provoke some FOMO among retail.

But your current strategy is beyond retarded. By starving the industry to death with an unrealistic spot while exploitation's costs (mainly diesel) are skyrocketting, you will only manage to kill 30% of the production, and the demand wont be met by the byproduct silver producers. And the latter having a completely inelastic production, you doom yourself to spot price being so disconnected with reality most silver net exporters will simply refuse your pricetag. Which is the main goal of the comex : scam foreign nations, forcing them to export their silver to the US for way less than it's truly worth, and pay them in literal toilet paper on top of that.

I'd say the Bri'ish sov is distinct enough for the label to only refer to them. They also have different weight AND purity standards than LMU coins (sovs are actual 22 karat vs LMU's 90% or 21.6k).
Most franc coins in existence also do not feature an actual sovereign on any of its sides.

My usual pasta, assuming you have money to spare (having at least a month's wages saved in cash for emergencies):
You've decided you want to 'stack' PM. What should you buy?
- For generic bars with no design, watch the markups over spot: you often pay high premiums for smaller pieces. You're buying because you have faith in PM prices going up. You want to pay the lowest premium.
- When a new series of artful or themed bullion (especially coins) comes out, buy a few of the first of the series - they are usually missed by later collectors who will pay high premiums to fill in the series. Consider the potential for overall series popularity - generic series have a higher failure rate.
- Buy interesting coins while they're still being minted. Once the mintage stops and dealers run out of stock, the prices jump then rise more slowly but still faster than plain silver. Maples, Eagles, Wieners, Britannias, etc. are all nice but boring. They may add a privy to make them more collectible and gin up the price. Buy stuff that changes designs from year to year: Somali elephants, Canadian Wildlife, Australian kookaburras or koalas, island nations' series, etc. These become series.
- Buy pieces that appeal to your sense of art, taste, and interests! These will still feel good even if the price or value of the PM goes nowhere. Caveat: if you go to sell, it's harder to part with them.
- Some beautiful generics are priced comically high (Germanias, e.g.) - they don't follow the market trends as readily, and usually garner highest resale price only for a few years after the mintage. The drawback: dealers may treat and price these as "generic" and offer only their standard buyback price as generic.
- If free shipping is offered, buy enough to take advantage of that. Although it's shipping (not directly PM), it's an added premium.
- Keep a spreadsheet of your purchases!!! You should track profit/loss over time. It's quite revealing.

that's what I can't decide whether to buy a britannia monsterbox, noah's ark or tokelau coins. considering dealers only pay spot back in the end it's maybe wiser to buy tokelau, but fewer dealers sell tokelau so they might not be interested in buying.
>>49468155
I got a delivery last week from europeanmint so seems to be no problems with deliveries so no worries
my #1 go to shop
and as I wrote earlier, they sent an email that britannias (and kangaroos, philharmonics) have less premiums now. but they're still pretty expensive
tokelaus are great but if one does sell in the future, maybe there'd not be that many dealers interested in buying tokelau coins (for some reason) vs britannias
as an example celticgold and tavid both have buyback prices listed on their website, but they dont sell tokelau coins meaning they might not buy them either.

I generally agree with what you're saying, anyone who think we will return to the gold standard is delusional. It constrained economic growth for decades. But this
>Nobody used gold when Rome collapsed.
is wrong, redominating around the solidus is a huge part of the reason the eastern Roman empire survived after the west's collapse.

The "gold standard" is bankster controlled, who in the fuck wants that tied to gold. We're in an age where trade is rapid and can get the tools to spot fakes.

>It constrained economic growth for decades
Yes (((economic growth))), not Human Development Index, that's not important, it's all about (((economic growth))) and big state management.

You wanna know why it constrained economic growth? It's because you can't cheat numbers. I don't think an entire economy should be solely under the mercy of a couple of rare types of rocks, but I do think that fiat and central banking has had its day due to the abuse from banksters and government officials.

You had people who were raised during the depression given the chance to get out of poverty, the sons of farmers who wanted literally anything else out of life, and the draftees who faced actual death if they didn't do as they were told.
I won't take anything away from what they did that day or days after, but don't paint it like they were told what normady would even be like the day they signed up. I'm sure if someone gave them the option to bombard germany and japan with cruise missiles till they surrendered and nobody they knew died, they would take it.

If it came to a foreign power invading I'm sure plenty of people who "hate the US" would hate the foreign invader more, especially when war-propaganda gets pumped up and the invader all of a sudden is threatening your friends and family directly (as the government would tell you they are).
