They called me a retard, faggot, nigger, etc you name it. I'm waiting for BTC to drop to $10k again before I start posting them and saying "I told you so". I know what the fuck I'm talking about. I've been in crypto since 2012 and was posting in the bitcointalk forums then when I was a sophomore in college. I was mining when you could still mine on your fucking laptop CPU. I got rekt on Mt. You guys give this gambler shit but the fact is very few of you cashed out near the top of the run, you suffered from the same exact greed, because its just human nature.

Its very easy to say "lmao this guy had 10m and didnt cash out! I would cash out if i was him" when you have a 10k portfolio yourself, its easy to say that but when youre in the situation yourself and you made 10m easily you would think you can easily double it.
The greedy gambler mentality is the entire reason people reach millions in the first place, the guy would of never touched 10m if he cashed out the first time he had 500k if he was desponsible and risk averse.

The thing about money is that its truly never enough psychologically, you can look at any multi millionaire/ billionaire, these people have by all normal measures "made it already" and never have to work again, yet they continue to go to work, run businesses and accumulate money. To those people 1b is not enough.

>I called this
>I called that

No one gives a shit what "calls" you got "right" - there is only one way of measuring success in this game and that is how much money you've made.

Plenty of poorfags scared to invest who are always telling others to sell, and then when (inevitably) they are finally right once they think they're hot shit.

Meanwhile Chad who ignored them and made 50mil which dropped to 25mil really doesn't care. Better to be rich than right, lmao.

----------

You poor fags have no idea - your risk aversion and shitty trading ability is why you'll never get to big digits in the first place, so all you can do is LARP about what you *would* do if you somehow inherited another person's portfolio after he built it up to 10mil or whatever. Basically "if you won the lottery".

Pic rel is my stack balance so far. Ups and downs are a natural part of crypto, thinking you can always sell tops and buy bottoms is retarded as fuck, you have to accept that that's not the nature of the game and that you have to just react quickly enough when the tide does turn.

If you're a retard who just holds last-gen shitcoins way past their hype cycle then it will all go back to zero and you never understood why you had that money in the first place. Chads can keep building and building each cycle.

I do remember the "wanting to quit" meme years ago, but I consider it a low T sort of thing. Once you get good at it, it's a game you want to keep playing because you enjoy it and are no longer traumatised by drawdowns.

Well it's all "trading", isn't it? From alts, though, yes. I just find new, next-gen alts that satisfy my criteria, get a huge position in them, then wait (or often help) them to come to their hype phase, then dump.

It's so straightforward but most people can't sit on their hands for months or years waiting for nice calm gains that end up much larger than everyone who fiddled around making trades every day (or even every week/month). That's no how anyone makes money.

I know exactly how much money I want to make with any investment I make and I have it set in stone as soon as I make the investment. For the OP's picture, I would probably have stopped at 3-4 million, taken out 80% of the investment and put in 20% of that back into the same thing or diversified it into other investments.

Anyone having trouble with the concept should think whether it makes sense for someone like Elon Musk to go "double or nothing" with their money. No, because he doesn't need double, he does need what he has. Even if the odds are heavily in favour of doubling, don't risk it.

To have gone to 0 he must have been completely liquidated. I just cannot understand how people can get into that mindset.

I stopped looking a long time ago, because sending all the resumes, which I hand-crafted for each job that paid over 50k/annum CAD, and getting no response was absolutely demoralizing. To be entirely honest, I'm also a bit afraid to go back to work at a normal job, especially anything in an office. I used to work an old corporate job for very low pay (14.50 CAD/hr, no guaranteed hours; averaged 20-30 per week over the year, but on-call), where they consistently criticized my "morale-lowering resistance" to management. I had good numbers. I wasn't the top employee, more like maybe in the upper 5-10% of every team (of around 50-100 people) for the performance metrics they gathered. I have crippling autism and am probably difficult to deal with, although I try to be as agreeable as I can. Have thought about weaving some lies into my resume and trying to use my limited management experience at that workplace to parlay a management position in QA elsewhere, ideally remote. It's just that the shit makes me so fucking anxious. I hate the office politics; the normie need to be- not polite, but smooth and casual and all these other subtle bullshit qualities. My light paranoia also makes it hard for me to trust that people won't fire me the next day, invent grievances, or that I'm unqualified and can't bluster my way through an unfamiliar position as an authority. I've spent so little of the last 3 years of unemployment seeing and talking to people that going out in daylight and interacting with clerks makes me feel like my skin is full of insects. Thanks for the tip about archival jobs, I'll look into that. I did some specialized coursework for such things, and have a lot of experience in my private life working with film, both organizing and storing it.
Generally I appreciate the encouraging tone. Nice to find a sense of camaraderie somewhere.

Anon you sound so much like me, lmao. I've worked office jobs 95% of my working life in office gigs and they fucking SUCK. Not because of the work itself but all the other shit that seems to come so easily and smoothly to others. The only jobs I've had slight enjoyment in were delivering pizzas when I was like 19, and some carpentry work I did for like 6 months when I was fresh out of college.

Where you live in Canada? I'm in Ontario, just east of TO.

Seems like you've had considerably more success. I'm too much of a nervous wreck to make anything of my what little I've got. Currently living for my photo project, pic related. Really, if I were to "make it" in any sense, I'd probably pour a significant amount into the equipment upgrades I've wanted. afaik I'm the only one using this specific combination of gear types to do what I do. I don't need for it to make money, I don't want fame. I'd just like to achieve my vision.

I only did the office job once. I've been marginally employed for the majority of my adult life, often doing odd jobs for cash. Tried to be a commercial photographer for a while. I'm not great with photoshop, and more importantly, I can't really sell myself. I made a lot of progress on my own with digital, after my first few jobs. It really takes a lot of pithy, gregarious posturing and feigned confidence to get people on board with paying you more than 10$/hr for headshots or real estate. Market is oversaturated, too.
I'm in QC, from ON.

The mindset that gets to 10MM that fast doesn't settle for it when it gets there. I made about a year's salary with call options during covid and stopped to be safe, missing months and months of solid green preceding a recession. I didn't lose my money, but fuck me did I miss a lot.
