The tldr is with a regular split, the number of shares is just multiplied by the split amount, but with a dividend, those shares are actually electronically distributed. GME is a play based on a specific set of factors, not one of which applies to AMC. However, this could just as easily be explained by them being a pair trade, meaning that the institutions short GME went long AMC to meet margin requirements on their short positions, meaning that when GME moons and they're forced to dump their longs AMC will plummet. Alternatively, the graphs matching could simply be an attempt to portray AMC as an equivalent play, to divert retail buying pressure.

AMC is a distraction tactic that only works on morons, and how obviously terrible a buy it is makes it being portrayed as an equivalent play to ours to make us look like idiots by association. I hate the stock and it's shareholders so goddamn much.
