so you're telling me that there is a virus
a virus that has already infected 950 people in 20+ countries
a virus that has been largely affecting the gay community, during gay pride month, before gay pride parade weekend
a virus that is spreading through community contact already rapidly
a virus where if there are 950 detected there are probably 4,000 undetected
and you're telling me
that for this virus, the only antiviral treatment is offered by SIGA, that all others are years away from production
you're telling me that the CDC already allowed emergency use for the antiviral
you're telling me that Spain has already ordered antivirals from them, and the EU is in talks to order more
you're telling me that there is going to be a global outbreak of a virus, with only 1 good antiviral treatment, and I can buy the stock, for under $12?
what am I missing
it already is a pandemic - there is a 0% chance of it stopping now, it has already spread too much

>OP giving expired advice
Dude that was to be done in 2020 given how the pandemic was going and the known unknowns of how long it'd go and seeing if locking up was ever going to work. But more than that, the locking up was going to cause a ripple effect in the econ that would lead to money printing (especially after March 2020), inflation hikes, and outside the domestic policies of the U.S. alone, OPEC+ was already in the talks of reducing production due to retailing wasn't bringing in the revenue that the producing countries wanted. It's too late.

Missed Payments, Rising Interest Rates Put ‘Buy Now, Pay Later’ to the Test
>“Buy now, pay later” companies promised a credit revolution that would change the way people pay for things. Rising delinquencies and a slowing economy are clouding that outlook.
>Payment plans that allow shoppers to split up the cost of things such as clothing, makeup and home appliances were all the rage last year. The companies behind the plans saw their valuations surge. Scores of retailers rushed to add them at checkout. Block Inc. SQ 6.84%▲ (formerly Square Inc.) in August announced a roughly $29 billion all-stock deal for Afterpay, one of the biggest companies in the business.
>But late payments or related losses are piling up for the industry’s biggest players— Affirm Holdings Inc., Afterpay and Zip Co. ZIP -4.79%▲ Their borrowing costs, meanwhile, are rising. Buy-now-pay-later companies sometimes rely on credit lines whose rates rise and fall along with the Federal Reserve’s benchmark rate, which has risen 0.75 percentage point so far this year and is poised to go up even more.

Inflation can't be fixed because there's a supply shortage, it's not simply "money was printed" but "factories aren't producing" and this impacts the oil supply which adds in "it costs more to ship". Which has about tripled the impact of changing the monetary supply, which wasn't really relevant because people used their trumpbux to pay off debts which is why the population holds less debt than they have at other points in the last 40 years.

Most likely this is intentional- people holding debt and making payments is essential to investment banking/financial rentseeking, so by trying to squeeze people into taking out loans for cars and places closer to their job they hope to get the level of indebtedness back up so they can make empty promises of debt jubilees or whatnot.

If you're artistically inclined, you can make designs of anything you'd like, post them on Redbubble, adjust how the product looks on each individual product (t-shirts, posters, etc.), and then sit back and wait as you accumulate passive income. But like anything, it requires some time to get noticed. And if you're not good at graphic design, then the best you can do is post historical artwork that's in the public domain.
A few tips:
>Adjust your designs to have as high of an image size/resolution as possible. Photoshop is the best for this, but any image resizer can work as well.
>Bump up your profit margin as high as possible for every product. Most people buy stickers and smaller products which go for $2.50 tops.
>Fine-tune your keywords, tags, and descriptions to maximize SEO.
>Steal popular memes not tied to copyright, trademark i.e. no big chungus, pepe. Instead think funny cats, elected officials. Look for what's popular on Redbubble.
>Try to get at least 100 designs/artwork uploaded. By that point, Redbubble will start curating your work for other viewers.
>Make variations of your most popular designs.

monkeypix is going to get a whole lot worse
it is starting now in the gay community, but is only a matter of time until it spreads out of it, just like aids
governments want to avoid smallpox vaccinations as much as possible
department of defense has already been stockpiling up on SIGA antivirals due to fear of Russian chemical warfare
now hospitals, governments worldwide will be stocking up
if there are are already 950 cases worldwide in 40 countries, it isn't going to just magically stop spreading
this is what people don't seem to get - that they think that it is going to just fizzle out or we are going to get it under control
if there are 950 cases worldwide that means there are likely 5-10x as many undetected
it is spreading like crazy, the curve is already exponential - # of cases is projected to double every 4-5 days or something like that
investing in Bavarian Nordic isn't a bad idea either, as that is the vaccine that will be used for close contacts, and if it does get out of hand, will be in the best position
SIGA is the best treatment, and already has FDA approval - huge competitive moat, no competitors

Fourth week(?) of working at an investment bank:
It appears overnight lending transactions are held together by duct tape and bubble gum, and the tri-party part of triparty repo basically boils down to the banks bitching at each other and a third bank handing out decrees on who is closer to correct. I thought we would have better systems than this to trade, but it actually has me rolling on the floor laughing that multi billion dollar transactions are settled with some sort of duly appointed financial arbitrator and a couple zoom chats. I think as you climb this ladder to the top of our supposedly pristine world banking system that runs everything perfectly, you tend to find more often than not that money is an arbitrary exchange and is really only as significant as your ability to fuck the other institution up, in something like a platonic forms street fighting type shit.

>Only wildcard is Biden visiting Saudis in person. But doubt anything will come of that.
Didn't the White House deny that, where they're only incidentally meeting as part of some other trip or get-together?

Not sure but as of a day ago he was likely going to. Seems like other news groups saying he will and ends the intent of making Saudia Arabia a pariah state.

No, that was my coworker. I never received confirmation though if he rolled me under the bus, but I now get to process the repos on my own and have in pointed out mistakes on the counter parties side, so I’m probably good.

RIG not so well. I am buying while cheap. Oil prices really need to moon for offshore to be worth it. KBR is slowly going up. You need companies like KBR to open up shut down wells that may have been unprofitable while oil was cheap. If you don’t know much about the oil industry, now it the time to brush up.

Most of them still doing poorly, not running profits yet
But they're seeing rapidly improving revenues and backlogs.
Increasingly optimistic guidances which is getting reflected in the stock prices.
Some have started doing buybacks and dividends, others have had to renegotiate debt and dilute because it didn't turn around quite quickly enough.
