I think it's the 4th girl since she looks like she's not really into the whole party thing and feels more comfortable researching cryptocurrency technology on her free time which intern has lead her to reading the chainweb white paper and buying and holding some KDA with the expectation of considerable profit after evaluating the state of current market leaders and their future development roadmaps and how it might end up given enough blockchain adoption. After finding out that Layer2 technologies and parameter changes will not be a sustainable solution to non-scalable Layer1s it just made sense to diversity a part of her portfolio into a scalable Layer1.

>L3 relates to L2 just as L2 relates to L1. L3 can be realized using validity proofs as long as the L2 is capable of supporting a Verifier smart contract. When the L2 also uses validity proofs submitted to L1, as StarkNet does, this becomes an extremely elegant recursive structure where the compression benefit of L2 proofs is multiplied by the compression benefit of L3 proofs. In other words, if each layer achieves, for example, 1000X in cost reduction, L3 can reach 1,000,000X reduction over L1 — while still retaining the security of L1.

Kadena is the only Layer1 which makes sense. There are only a few ways to scale which are realistic if you take into account the constraints of what a blockchain actually is. In a chain of blocks, you can't make blocks include a lot of transactions, and you can't produce them faster than the speed of light. The ways L1s scale is by changing those two parameters and shilling it as a revolution, the only way to actually scale is to produce MORE blocks, in parallel. Layer2 is doing something like that, isn't that cool! oh wait, L2 needs to settle to L1 which, yeah, means you still need to fit it into a single block.
So what's the actual solution, sharding, having lots of chains/shards that make blocks! Nice, which projects actually have that working right now? KDA and ... yeah. That's it. This is the point of having the best L1 in a thread with the best Exchange. The future of crypto is right here but you don't see it because you are a dumb fucking froot loop retard.

I think it shows that smart contracts have a very valuable potential use case outside of the current state of DeFi, because I believe that Chainlink's value is directly correlated to the value of smart contracts, just to basically say yes, I believe Chainlink will be valuable, because smart contracts save institutions a lot of money and when Chainlink staking releases, these potential use cases may get unlocked.

Okay nobody disagrees with this.
The first question was do you think Chainlink has value given the current state of defi and the second was do you have a reason to believe they are waiting on something to happen before releasing it and your answer is basically "I want to think so"

>> No.49366272

>waiting on something to happen before releasing it
This must be a misunderstanding. What I'm trying to say is that the current state of DeFi, which basically runs on Chainlink's infrastructure, will change when this infrastructure changes by enabling collateralization of contracts, and that, clearly, these contracts need this collateral before putting their trillions into these smart contracts.

We agree on the defi having value outside of what it does currently and disagree on people waiting on the sidelines for Chainlink staking to go live before deploying trillions. I accept that very well could be true but even assuming it is I see no evidence it will happen immediately on their release of staking.

Level with me, Ethereum as an investment. I like the name and logo but do you think that the convoluted overly complex, centralized L2 is going to win over a scalable L1 in the medium term (1-3 years). It already doesn't seem like Ether is going to be the primary use for those L2s so it might already be over before it even started (see OP and their token). But despite everything there is too much money in this ecosystem and it might just be that PoS and Centralized block production might take over for the midterm until things go horribly wrong, start getting really expensive, or get overshadowed by better solutions. The correct answer when faced with uncertainty is to diversify, but I'd rather not.

They delayed staking by 5 years and then introduced a deflationary mechanism for no apparent reason while selling it to the plebs as "fuck miners driving up our fees". Letting miners control more of the market to dilute the pre-sale ETH and prevent the founders from being the oligarchs of ETH 2.0 doesn't make sense on a protocol level. I can only assume it was done at the insistence of people with a lot of ETH who were fed up of their stacks being diluted.
