Canada just hiked their interest rates to 1.50% and indicated that they are looking at substantial increases as well. If Canada is starting to aggressively ramp up interest rates then the US Fed will have to follow them. I expect 0.50% increase min for each next couple meetings and perhaps a few doubles near the end once inflation gets out of control. We will end year with rates around 4-5%. I am very bearish on tech valuations at these levels in a 5% interest rate env.

I've ran the numbers too. If I go autopilot and not look at the market more than twice a year the return off $1m would be on average $100k. Even after taxes that is enough for me to split some of it with my family and give them an easier life. If I decide to put in effort I could pull off $200k a year but this will require watching stocks a few hours every week and sticking to the strategy, like a part time job. My dream of giving my parents and siblings a comfy life would be great!

QYLD is not a value ETF. It is still subject to downside volatility of the Nasdaq-100. It is still far better than Treasuries for fixed income.

DIVO is closer to a value etf. It is holding up pretty well, mostly hovering around the $35 mark. It pays a 5% dividend that grows about 10-20% a year.
