because of your trips I'll input you something:
in the mountains: water + pump water up with win + solar -> height from moubtain + wate, sunnyside of mountain + solar, wind in mountain valleys + windturbine
costs like only to build and then prints money from energy
if you are only intressted in virtual energy: i guess nuclear energy will have a good time, because fossile energy has bad reputation, fusion is not even close to work, renewalbe have the storage problem and the energyhunger keeps increasing. So my guess is a next generation of nuclear to make the next 50-70 years working for new stuff possible.
Also I think Hydrogen could be intressting since it can run in gaspowerplants and if you use sunpowered elecroliser the efficiency does not matter. This could acctualy be a good thing but you know..
Also you can buy and sell energy at an exchange (at öeast in europoor) so check the weather and buy on sunny/windy days and sell when there are clouds or rain.

We’re going to harvest quantum energy from other dimensions. Don’t worry about it. In the 1800’s they estimated the world would be covered in horse shit by 2000 because horse and buggie popularity was skyrocketing. Problems of the past can be eradicated with solutions of teh future.

look for the companies that research nuclear power with waste from old nuclear plants.

well yes, but the jocke is, since renewable energy it does not matter since you have a shit ton of energy ad midday but cant store it for the night. So supper shitty efficency is still infinite more efficent than no efficency at all (i.e. just let the sun shine and heat up some rocks).
Imo decentrallisation is the key, small powerplants where it is worth (rooftops, springwater tempobreaker -> make it a turbine etc.) but the homo citypien that wants centralisation cant handle that.
