Hey /pmg/ I just picked up a couple rolls of coins from the bank (the only rolls the teller happened to have). I'm hoping I can get a decent amount of copper pennies and some Older Nickels, but I'd be fine with anything as long as I don't get Zinced.

Looked through the rolls, only 6 copper cents which is about typical for my area, the oldest (and also lowest mintage) was a 1968-S. I also found a 2017-P which I've never found before.
The Nickels were pretty average too, the oldest one was a 1963-D. Nothing special there.

hello indianon, silver is crazy volatile short term, but over the span of decades or generations yes you'd expect it to hold its value with respect to inflation unless you buy right at the top like in 2011.
gold will be more stable long term, mixing some of both silver and gold is a good play if you can afford it.
tax isn't really a concern, generally for gold or silver most people don't ever intend to sell a big amount unless they need to pay for food, shelter, or fuel in an emergency. and, let's be real, do most people pay tax when they sell a few hundred dollars worth to their local coin dealer? probably not.

What would you consider a good entry price to get in bitcorn?
Desu once it's start crashing you will probably lose your balls, as most do, it's a natural reaction hard to fight.
Look at how low the volumes were when we were crabbing in the 29k range for WEEKS up until few days ago, slurpers were nowhere to be found..

Also i'm fearing ppl forgot about the luna fiasco far too quickly. This shit will have huge ramifications. It's over 45 fucking billions USD who were wiped out, and it wasn't just retail, but also institutions and CEXs. The dominos will start to fall one after another.
To put it into perspective, the entire registered silver in the COMEX is worth $1.5B...
It was a loss of $3.8B in subprimes who triggered the fall of Lehman Brothers..

45 fucking billions. Wiped out in few hours.
Believe me we didn't even start to conceptualize the shitshow this will trigger. Actually the eery silence around this whole story is a very bad omen. And the first dominos to fall will all be from the shitcoin sphere. Actually, i think it will be (((Celsius))) first -already in process-, then Tether.

Do you really want to take a loan with such a ticking bomb? The worst part is the bomb already exploded, we simply didn't feel the shockwave yet.

Good Lord.. It's far too high fren. BTC will probably be sub 10k before EOY. Did you see the last reports about personal savings? We are at around 4%, ATL.
And the CCs among US households? Maxxed out.
What will be the first assets to go to replenish the fridge to your opinion once the 4% left of saving is gone? It will be shitcoins, then stocks. And once both are gone, it will be the only real asset most americans have : the house.

Global Gold Production Yearly ~2500 Tonnes

Gold Price Per OZ: $1,843

Global Copper Production Yearly: 18,000,000 Tonnes

Copper Price Per OZ: $0.27

Global Silver Production Yearly: 24,000 Tonnes

Silver Price Per OZ: $21.83

If the Price of silver was relative to the production of gold, silvers price would be $192 per OZ, silvers price in relation to copper would be $202.

What am I missing here, why is silver 10x less valuable than what it seems it should be, and won't demand rise when the Electric vehicle and solar panel industry takes off?

Silver is literally the most conductive metal on the planet.

>> No.49290617

That's because miners still make a profit selling at this price point.

Another month.
Another tube of lizard queen.
5 tubes so far.
I think I will fill a monster box of lizard queen then I will switch to Armenia Noah's Ark:
* Cheaper premium, I think Brexit really pushed the premium of LQ higher
* Smaller tubes: 20 coins instead of 25. More money to invest somewhere else while keeping a decent ammount in precious metals.
* (cheap, yet sexy) wooden monster box for Noah's. Tubes are also sexier.
Goddess Europa from Europa Bullion also look nice and cheap but I'm not paying 30euros for shipping from Estonia. Such high shipping fees make my germano-armenian Noah's more competitive, until they get repriced and something else become cheaper.
'Ate repricing. Fucking ruin my autistic mood.

I wonder why Noah's are cheaper than Wieners btw. One is produced in Leipzig, the other in Vienna or something but with a higher mintage... May be the demand for Wieners is higher because it's denominated in Euro and european love dicks because they're all fucking gays, who knows. Fuck Europe, Fuck Brussels.

Anyway. Ordered my 1 Oz and 1/2 Oz reverse proof 2022 Libertad. What a waste of good money, the premium on the mexican tiddies is incredibly stupid and yet the mintage is still in the thousand (Huge!). But fuck, Mexico various coast of arm on the reverse side are so fucking cool. And reverse proof coin are the patrician choice.
Still stupid tho'.

Not sure what a proper economist would call it, but this price to value consistency across time also shows in luxury hunting rifles. Fine English guns, hand crafted Italian shotguns and a few varieties of revolvers in the 5000-25000 hall of costs. e.g.; Manurin, Korth and a few others. Is there any similar value referent effect in the wine and wine futures market? Any anons savvy on the long term wine market price to silver relation? Would be noice to have a meme of silver value based on historical cost of standard wines.

>How do you older stackers manage to just not dump everything you have into silver and just maintain what you can afford by buying monthly or whatever?
For me what happened is that that 'fun' aspect of it went away after a while. Once I had a couple hundred ounces, more than you can reasonably hold in your hands at once, how much I had sorta just became a number in my head or a mental image of my stack. With that framing it's much easier to see it as just another budget item that gets its place for dollar cost averaging

Another thing I did early on was designate a 20 oz tube of rounds as my 'fun stack' that I'm allowed to clink around and hold in my hands, while the rest of my tubes are still sealed.

Oops - I nuked my comment because I got all confused with who posted what.

Anyway.. I think your shots are fine.

You're talking about depth of field. There are two ways to deal with that - one is as you say, move farther back and use a longer focal length, and the other is close down and use a higher f-stop (which requires a longer exposure, hence the tripod). To mitigate the longer exposure you can also increase the ISO, but that will typically raise noise level and make the pic look grainy.

Moving back and cropping (not a longer focal length / zoom) has another issue: fewer pixels. If the subject occupies less area on the sensor, you have fewer pixels to depict it. You can have a really sharp picture, but if the subject only occupies 10x10 pixels, what's the point. I use this silly extreme only for illustration of course.

But I think the other Anon is criticizing the subject/composition. Not my department. I don't have people dolls, but I think your use of them in the pics is cute.

none of that is illegal.
since 2004 gun rights in the united states have only expanded. you might be too young to remember but before then most states did not allow open or concealed carry, and AR15's and AK's were rare and expensive. the mid-price for a AR was $1000 USD.
now in 2022, you can fairly easily get a CCW permit in ~46 states, open carry is almost universally legal. and in 25 states there is no permit required for either open or concealed, and that just happened over the last 5 years or so.
there is a case at SCOTUS which, by all appearances is going to be a pro-gun ruling.

there is no political will for federal level gun control. there wasnt any after sandyhook, vegas, columbine, parkland, VT, Uvalde, the night club thing etc.

you think things are bad now? in the 1960's there was serious bi-partisan support for a ban on handguns.
oh and the 1986 MG ban? you know what they dont tell you about that bill? it defanged the ATF. before FOPA you had to buy ammo through a gun store, just like if you were buying a gun. there was a ammo registry. the ATF could revoke licenses for any reason and was able to do raids without a warrant. FOPA ended that.

Most rifle ammo is at minimum 70 cents a round, banning all Russian imports really fucked over AK guys on 7.62x39.

This is the last I'll say on the subject because this is a precious metals thread and not /k/, but the exact reason why it says shall not be infringed is because our Founders knew it would be the one most likely to be infringed by a tyrannical government. Shall not be infringed is obvious for all of our constitutional rights, but it's specifically written into the Second Amendment as emphasis.

DYOR, but yes, price is a factor when it comes to quality. You should be looking for something that is mil-spec (military specifications) which means it has very specific tolerances in machining precision. I bought a rock river AR-10 (.308 Winchester round as opposed to the .223/5.56mm) and I’ve never had a jam of a misfire. Some anons might tell you to buy your own parts and put them together yourself but nothing beats having the experts at a factory do it for you ahead of time or having a gunsmith put it together for you if you decide to piece it out. Watch YouTube videos, go onto /k/, go to a gun range and gun shows. Talk to everyone that has AR platform rifles and come to your own conclusions after researching. There’s a lot of options out there and a lot of them are good or very good.

Gender is irrelevant, most people have no concept of money beyond their paycheck, bank balance, and bills. Fiat currency IS money for them; at best the difference is a neat bit of trivia. My best friend is a long term saver and has no plans for his money. Doesn't invest it or buy anything, just leaves it in his savings account. He listened politely as I explained how and why I was saving in PMs instead of cash, and thanked me when I gave him a Morgan for Christmas. Last time I was there, that Morgan was in the same spot he left it. I also spoke with my Aunt, who is an accountant and also a diligent saver. The cheaper AR's work fine, but they generally have components (namely barrel) that don't last as long as higher quality AR's. Same with most any guns. If you want a fun gun or don't shoot often a cheap AR is fine as long as you take care of it, clean it, and lubricate it.

It is terrible, it costs me more than an ounce of silver just to fill a single AR15 magazine on the cheap stuff. Guns are the only thing I spent more on than PMs last year and I didn't even get a lot of gun stuff. Still can't even afford a plate carrier. But like hell I'm stacking silver without an arsenal to protect it or myself.
