Hey /pmg/ I just picked up a couple rolls of coins from the bank (the only rolls the teller happened to have). I'm hoping I can get a decent amount of copper pennies and some Older Nickels, but I'd be fine with anything as long as I don't get Zinced.

I’m down more than 10 thousand because I bought the absolute top back in march. Even down on my gold a little bit.

Apmex took my money May 26 but won't ship my order until June 2nd

Looked through the rolls, only 6 copper cents which is about typical for my area, the oldest (and also lowest mintage) was a 1968-S. I also found a 2017-P which I've never found before.
The Nickels were pretty average too, the oldest one was a 1963-D. Nothing special there.

how many ounces of bullion and or coin physical silver exist in the world?

Ive seen wide ranging figures as low as only 3 billion oz.

I've found 1 silver quarter in about a dozen boxes and around 10 or so W mint marks from 2019 and 2020. I've searched a few boxes of nickels but haven't found any war nickels. gold will be more stable long term, mixing some of both silver and gold is a good play if you can afford it.
tax isn't really a concern, generally for gold or silver most people don't ever intend to sell a big amount unless they need to pay for food, shelter, or fuel in an emergency. and, let's be real, do most people pay tax when they sell a few hundred dollars worth to their local coin dealer? probably not.

Closest analogy I can think of is like layers in photoshop. For me what happened is that that 'fun' aspect of it went away after a while. Once I had a couple hundred ounces, more than you can reasonably hold in your hands at once, how much I had sorta just became a number in my head or a mental image of my stack. With that framing it's much easier to see it as just another budget item that gets its place for dollar cost averaging

You're talking about depth of field. There are two ways to deal with that - one is as you say, move farther back and use a longer focal length, and the other is close down and use a higher f-stop (which requires a longer exposure, hence the tripod). To mitigate the longer exposure you can also increase the ISO, but that will typically raise noise level and make the pic look grainy.

Moving back and cropping (not a longer focal length / zoom) has another issue: fewer pixels. If the subject occupies less area on the sensor, you have fewer pixels to depict it. You can have a really sharp picture, but if the subject only occupies 10x10 pixels, what's the point. I use this silly extreme only for illustration of course.

But I think the other Anon is criticizing the subject/composition. Not my department. I don't have people dolls, but I think your use of them in the pics is cute.

You should be looking for something that is mil-spec (military specifications) which means it has very specific tolerances in machining precision. I bought a rock river AR-10 (.308 Winchester round as opposed to the .223/5.56mm) and I’ve never had a jam of a misfire. Some anons might tell you to buy your own parts and put them together yourself but nothing beats having the experts at a factory do it for you ahead of time or having a gunsmith put it together for you if you decide to piece it out.
