Tertiary Channel and similar material like desert calichi simply absorbs the blast and doesnt shatter, the best bet for this is simple manual labor until i get mad at it and mark it as a test hole for excavator work later this year. I ll put a ripper tool on the stick and just bust through as much as i can if I think its worth it. Tomorrow i ll try and get down another meter or so, 3m by hand is deep enough where it starts becoming a shaft and needs cribbing / supports.

I ll do the same on the opposite side of this hump i am digging in now in a week or two, when the snow in the shade has thawed out.

Why the hell do I keep on hearing about asteroid mining? Even some normies I know are talking about it. Did some eceleb make a video about it recently? There's no way that people seriously think this tech will be viable within the decade. And how much gold or silver will the average space rock contain anyway? He is correct.

Just look up the production of any of the Giant oil fields.

For example: Cantarell in Mexico peaked in 2003 /2004 where it was producing 2.1 million barrels of oil a day.

You know how many it produces today?

159,000 barrels of oil a day.

Peak oil is real. Only the ignorant like to quote it and think that we are completely running out of oil. The fact is we have produced and consumed the easy to get oil that is cheap. Now we are on the down side of peak where oil is going to get increasingly more difficult to extract and produce which will make it much more difficult to consume also.

This is a major issue that no one in economics or government wants to discuss with the population because the implication is that industrial civilization is coming to an end soon. Currently, the elites are also largely delusion in thinking that wind and solar is somehow going to power an industrial civilization.....instead you will end up with rolling blackouts and permanent loss of electricity in certain areas where there is no wind and little sunlight.

Steve is essentially correct in that we do face an energy cliff.

>> No.49268569

Not really. There is no one really in control except for fleeting control by the Central Banks that will come to an end also. That is what a lot of the "conspiracy theorists" don't realize.

The Giant Oil Fields are all played out and this is why there is such a rush into shale oils, tar sands, offshore oils, etc.

We haven't discovered a giant oil field in many years.

Much of the reserve numbers that are claimed and completely inflated and outright fabrications. This was even admitted by the former VP of Aramco who even stated many of the so-called reserves are not accessible or available for production.

Most don't realize that conventional oils peaked in 2005 and then we had the financial crisis from 07-09 where the central banks lowered rates to zero. This allowed for shale oils, tar sands, and other low quality oils to be brought online because they are uneconomical at higher interest rates and they do not make money. Something like 200 shale oil companies have gone bankrupt since then. Furthermore, oil from shale accounted for something like 73% of all oil production since the 08 financial crisis.

As things wind down for industrial civilization you will see a mass bankruptcy and that includes the central banks that will not function at the scale they previously functioned at.

There really is no-one in control of this process as it moves forward. You won't be able to stop the people from trying to consume as much oil as they possibly can because the entire food supply throughout the world is dependent on oil and its derivatives. Wtihout oil you can expect to lose at least 50% of the world population....some say 30-40% but I think it is likely higher than that.

If you want to see how dependent the population is on oil just chart the world population growth beside oil production growth and you will see a strong correlation.

>> No.49268766

I don't think so at all actually in the way that most of you think.

There is going to be a reverse of globalization at a point in the future.....so far there has been a slow grinding down since 2008 but things are really starting to move quickly now....

What will be valuable will be food, land, security, etc.

I see a complete breakdown of supply chains and everything that entails. You already see this with the moves China/Russia have made against the US.

Now how many of the unwashed out there have any idea about gold or silver?.....the unwashed have no clue.

The only people that will value it will be fellow like minded individuals who likely have their own stacks. You will also most likely be more concerned about finding something to eat.

Imagine a situation with major cities in the US not receiving any food from delivery trucks.....this is coming by the way.....now within 3 days those cities are going to erupt and empty out.....where do you think they are going to go?

This is how the end game of industrial civ. will play out......

You will have a lot more concerns than what your stack is worth IMO

Yeah but we export food and can afford fertilizer. Maybe we'll eat less meat, but that may be a blessing in disguise for a lot of people. Supply chains breaking down will make it too expensive to buy a new iPhone every year but will hardly be apocalyptic. We can still use other countries in Latin America or Africa for cheap labor as well if China and Asia become untenable. There are big problems coming, but there are also plenty of solutions.

>> No.49269000

Shale is subject to red queen syndrome due to its decline/depletion rates.

You have to continually bring on new wells in order to make up for the large depletion rates of previous wells that are being produced. It creates a never ending effect of trying to replace wells that are depleting very quickly. In doing so, you are not really building production instead you are trying to maintain what you have. It is not as abundant as it is made out to be because of this effect.

Relatively cheap? Not at all.....shale only exists at zero or near zero interest rates and even then hardly any companies make a profit. There have been hundreds of shale companies that have been bankrupted.

Shale is a last gambit of a dying and depleting system. The technology for shales has been around for a long time.

You should ask yourself.....why wasn't shale brought online and used largely prior to 2005? Same thing for tar sands, offshore oils, etc. Most of these are known to be low quality sources that are difficult to extract from and ecologically damaging. Could it be because we have used up the easy to get stuff from the giant oil fields we relied on for a long time?
Do you know they have to water flood the fields in Saudi? Something like 7 million gallons of water a day just to get more oil out of there.
I wouldn't expect this system to hold up much longer.

Both statements are largely true. We may see it before the end of the century, or at least some demonstration/test missions. But it will take years for the rock to get close to our orbit, and will almost never be brought down, manufacturing in space will use it.
Nothing to worry about from a PM hoarder POV

Yeah, he is alright. He is giving it a shot but yelling out into the wilderness.

There used to be a lot more energy skeptics and peak oilers but it was ruined with the doom porn peddles stating the world is going to collapse tomorrow....that doesn't really resonate with people and rightfully you will be made fun of and anyone with serious and thoughtful concerns just gives up.

It is rather funny a lot of the old timers have either passed on or just dropped off completely from the discussion. The old peak oil forums are largely vacated minus a few people and a couple nutters.

It is funny because you can clearly see the effects of peak oil playing out and the geopolitical games being played out by governments shows that peak oil is very real and they know. I don't think a lot of people remember of have even heard that the German Military did a peak oil study and its implications back in 2012 I think. Hardly anyone even knows about this and they even published it to where it was leaked publicly and I am not sure if that was intended or not but it shows that governments know about it.

We also started mixing ethanol into gasoline around that era. This allows us to get more "gasoline" out of a single barrel, and helps hide the fact that the sands, shales, etc have lower quality crude, denser, less of the highly volatile light oils.

>> No.49269619

Exactly, that is called "Desperate Measures"

You know what that looks like?

I'll quote BW Hill a Petroleum Engineer: Crude inventories will continue to expand as the petroleum industries requirement for energy continues to grow. As a result less energy will be delivered to the non energy producing sector of the economy.

You know what that looks like?

Chart the following:
US Ending stocks of crude oil and petroleum products vs. Weekly US ending stocks of finished motor gasoline

You will notice a very distinguished inverse relationship

>> No.49269715

This is because the refineries are continually receiving poor quality inputs (increasing impurities) as oil fields enter terminal depletion. Therefore, the volume of inputs have to increase in order to make a finished product. Due to this, the refineries are receiving more and selling less.

no, if the oil trade stops PM's wont matter because it will be the end of modern civilization as we know it. you might be able to handle it but your neighbors will not. go watch or read the road. think a few oz of gold would help in that situation because that is what happens with no oil. im sorry but it would simply be the end of the world.

based.

This is in my estimation why we're also going through these 2020 hysterics with WEF, The Fed, and the fags on Wall St/JPM.

They all know the oil is going to be harder to get. They all know the implications of this upon the petrodollar aka USD. They are getting what they can while greenbacks still have value, and shopping for an alternative while they still have time. Blockchain dollars are an experiment rn, and the female commie bug they wanted to install at Fed went over like a lead balloon. So maybe a silver dollar. Or more likely a new Bretton Woods system vs BRICS (who incidentally have just today rejected the proposed WHO Treaty).

It's gonna get real fucking dark lads. The lights are going out right before our eyes.

Civilization has survived much worse than a loss of a luxury good, which is exactly what oil is when you boil it down. Sure millions (more probably billions) will starve, but civilization will go on like it always has. Humanity's progress has not been a linear increase, and in times when that line started to go down the tough managed to eke out an existence and recover. A loss of excess is not a civilization-ender.

And humanity can survive without all of those things just fine. The only one that's arguably a necessity is fertilizer, which we can (and have for millennia) produce naturally. What we will lose is the ability to support EXCESS humanity. Africa is not meant to have a billion people, and the only reason it does is because of the excess provided to us by petrochemicals. We are burning through our excess to support the useless, and that will come to an end.

Well yes....the people at the top must have some understanding of the situation. It is obvious that Putin and Xi know which is why Putin made his move and has threatened nuclear war.

The US needs all the oil it can get on the cheap to extend the petro-dollar system. Unfortunately, that system is dying and that is what is being exploited to bring it to an end by Putin/Xi.

Blockchain/Bitcoin is simply a tool to drain excess liquidity from the unwashed masses into a non-functional crypto-sphere that will be co-opted and already is really by major institutions.

The end game really is the end of industrial civilization and yes the lights are going to go out in many locations.

The media is already priming people for this by stating there will be black outs and food riots etc.

You could see this coming back in 2005 when conventional oils peaked....most people don't make the connection with low interest rates, shales, etc.

The repo crisis in 2019 was another financial crisis that the system had a convulsion and was near collapse. The banks didn't trust each others collateral and the FED had to step in and bail everyone out again....so what did they do?....They launched COVID-19 which was a total psychological operation.....there wasn't a pandemic and I don't even think there was a virus at all. That is how desperate things are. Plus, the system got to kill off a lot of people with dangerous medical treatments and vaccines. A lot of the vaccinated won't die immediately but they will incur large amounts of cancers and autoimmune diseases that will kill them off quickly down the road.

The Peak Oil people have been saying this for twenty years and nada. Their mistake is in not understanding how markets work. Markets are at their very best in allocating resources. The day will never come when suddenly all the wells run dry. What will happen is that the cost to extract will slowly increase. As it does, new methods will be developed (like fracking). Then those will become more expensive. At some point the price of oil, gas, and coal will get high enough that other energy options will become economical. The combination of higher fossil fuel costs and concern over carbon emissions will eventually silence the anti-nuke crowd and the world will go full-nuclear. Uranium and thorium, used to its full capacity, will power the world at current levels of consumption for a thousand years. So I'm not going to worry about it.

Biden's first move in office was scrapping Keystone XL. That leaves American oil, whatever's left of it, in reserve where it can't be spent and the support of the petrodollar kept in place: in the ground. Everyone in the US is paying higher gas prices because of this unfulfilled demand for government's sake and their oil/railroad cronies. They put a tourniquet on the bleed but there's really not much left. Fracking did a number on us, too.

I think our oil production is purposefully being stalled by our government to maintain the US's oil reserves. Why wouldn't we when our government can just trade fiat for other countries' oil reserves while it still can? The only downside is some pain to the average American's wallet, but as long as they perform the balancing act well they can maintain our reserves without causing too much dissent from the populace. It may play out well for us in the long term, especially if we eventually overthrow these cretins.

Government is by nature parasitic to the host population, sucking it dry of blood just shy of killing it so it can continue to feed in the future. However today goverment has reached such a critical mass that it's weight is suffocating society to the point of collapse. Pretty much, yes. The cloth is impregnated with a compound that reacts with / absorbs sulfur more readily than silver, so it acts as a sacrificial anode (though chemical, not electric). It also means the cloth should be changed once in a while - years, if you keep the box mostly closed - don't let as much new air get in. >Government is by nature parasitic to the host population
Based and Founding Father pilled. Our original government, as established by our Founding Fathers, was the golden mean between anarchy and tyranny, with a HEAVY emphasis on keeping the federal government as neutered as possible because of their understanding that governments are necessary, but parasitic. Following the conclusion of the Civil War the federal government usurped the power of the people and began dismantling the original government established by our Founders. This liberal democracy we live in is not the Republic we were founded on, and it shows most obviously in our financial system, the most important aspect of any society.

The depletion of fossil fuels will not, by itself, be a big problem because the market will replace it as costs rise. That's how markets work. So if the argument is that the finite nature of oil reserves will, in and of itself, bring an end to civilization as we know it, that's bunk.

Of course you can always theorize that at some point an authoritarian government or global elite will intentionally destroy civilization. Maybe. But that isn't the result of Peak Oil and it is rather like a deus ex machina argument.

I've had the AoC debate with people before and never managed to change anyone's mind on the subject, but I'll say that I believe the AoC was fundamentally flawed and those flaws would have become exacerbated with the rise of nation-states across the globe. There were certainly violations of the Constitution before the Civil War of course, but federalism was still the law of the land prior to the war's conclusion, so states could basically disregard the federal government if it stepped out of bounds. Little known fact is the Bill of Rights only applied to the federal government prior to the conclusion of the Civil War, that is how strongly federalism was rooted in our society. The Civil War wasn't about slavery, it was about the federal government usurping power.

Which is precisely why our original government was designed such that it had as little power as possible, and any attempts to increase its power could be thwarted rather easily by the states and the People. It's my opinion that without government those demons would pose a far greater threat to society, but that is only my opinion as we don't have many examples of European peoples surviving extended periods of time without government. Soap is better because soap is an agent that removes physical filth such as oils, sweat and dirt which silver doesn't do. People have been using soaps such as lye before germ theory of disease was even widely accepted, so it's not just a germ thing. But as a finisher I don't see why not, and a kilo bar is in the shape of a big soap block. But if you drop that thing when it gets slippery you're going to break your fucking shower, kilo bars do not mess around. $1841 per oz gold divided by 1000 = $1.84 x 2 is $3.68. Just under 100% over spot for legit the smollest fractional gold you can get isn't bad at all. Unless you are ONLY stacking weight at as close to spot as you can get its a non issue. Premium is even worse on mintanons coins.

The biggest issue with mining gold is the insane amount of dirt you need to move for tiny amounts of gold. If the main belt theory is correct and it was made as the result of a molten proto planet ripping apart then it stands to reason there should be veins of quite pure metals separated from the nickel iron mass by various centripetal and other forces during the event. The questions are, can you make mass to orbit cheap and are there rich veins of platinum group metals to be found in M-type asteroids on good orbits that require a minimal amount of delta v to inject your metal rich slugs onto an earth orbit intercept. Cost to orbit is coming down dramatically and I expect spacex will succeed with starship which will drop costs to the floor. What is really needed is a comprehensive analysis of all M type asteroids on low Dv orbits compared to earth to determine what kind of resources there are to exploit. For my money the answer is yes, but it will require time and capital to get to that point.

no such thing, it's just a different kind of beer then as long as the Reinheitsgebot is protected. If they insert anything other than hops, malts and water, they're making piss though.
The fun begins at around 50 IBU for people who enjoy bitter beers, and if you don't enjoy it, there's a whole world of malty sweet beers to delve into instead. Beer is a big big fren zone, mixfags are non-frens and the IPA hipsters who don't even know or appreciate the craft itself can go fuck off as well, aside from that there's a beer for everyone who asks and seeks to try some.

https://youtu.be/tArS6fiK7Vk

Just like with Canada, here's another reason why you can't trust the banksters. I wouldn't be surprised in the next decade trust in the banking system is going to be as low as MSM, perhaps stuff like this is the first of many cracks for the people to break away. It's fanciful thinking, but with instant global media communication and decentralized exchanges, the tools are in place to be used. The only issue stopping it is convenience as it always is. Crack that and that will create a domino effect.

personally as a collectors item and as a barter the goldack is very nice, but it has been stated multiple times by the company itself as well as those who advocate for the use of goldback to never stack goldback as that is not their purpose
If you purchase to collect, cool, if you purchase to use in personal transactions, great, but stacking goldbacks is not it's intended purpose and I would advise against it
standard coin or bars with lower premiums are meant for stacking, and any fractional gold is not a good way to stack if that is your intention or goal
