I had no idea. I thought it was an organic market phenomenon, and we traded it like other TA patterns like H&S and double tops etc. So Barts are created by whales?

Barts are created by leverage traders stop losses getting triggered, which causes squeezes. When too many traders place their stop losses at the same price range, it causes cascade effect.
Essentially, long traders cause other long traders to get liquidated. Same with negabarts.

Barts are created by exchanges trading against their customer, mostly leveraged traders, so your image isnt wrong per se

yeah it's a pump n' dump strategy by whales. It only works when the volume is low so it takes less money to do the initial pump.

That's what I explained, they get stopped out and it causes a cascading of traders getting stopped out. Everyone puts their stop losses too close together, then when the price retests the bottom it stops out a cluster of longies. Which will lower the price because they're getting liquidated, which causes the other longies with their stop losses in the same range to also get liquidated. This happens until there are no more stop losses in that range, then you see a really rapid flip of the price. This is referred to as a long squeeze.

The main thing to keep in mind is that when a long trader gets liquidated, the price MUST go down. The inverse is true when a short trader gets liquidated, the price will go up. Short squeezes cause Barts, and long squeezes cause nega Barts.

This pic kind of illustrates it. The easiest way of wording it is, too many people put their stop losses in the same price range.

End? Never. Barts are a product of the way the crypto market works. They're very easy to predict once you get an understanding of how the market is moving. When the market is in an uptrend, you'll see more barts. Until you see a mega-bart, for example BTC on the 1D back in Feb-May of 2021. A Bart of that size is a massive sell signal.
The inverse of that is that you'll see more negabarts on downtrends, until you see a mega-negabart. Which can be seen on BTC on the 1D May-Jul 2021. Typically mega-negabarts are not as clean as mega-barts. Meaning they're a bit more difficult to spot.

There are technical terms for mega-Barts. A mega bart is a distribution phase, it's a sign of a top. Mega-Negabarts are an accumulation phase, they are signs of a bottom. When a mega-bart occurs near a support or resistance level, that's a nearly guaranteed sign of a reversal.
