Get online courses on AWS/Azure (digitalcloud is a good one). Get a couple of certs (they are $150/each but worth every penny when looking for a job)
Learn a little bit of python+bash scripting

$60k-90k to start

I would give it 2-6 months if you manage to put ~6hrs a week learning it. It will be very hard in the beginning but take notes of what you learn.
If you do decide to try it out, try to be consistent and put in at least some time every week. Don't beat yourself up if you skip because you're too tired - it happens.
The reason it pays so well is because the learning curve is steep in the beginning.
Start with aws cloud practitioner from digitalcloud, i think the course is around $40 bucks. It will be hard, but tough it out. As a trade worker you know that nothing worthwhile comes without struggle

Godspeed anon

sorry little buddy, "artists" lost when photoshop became a thing. i still have a painting my dad's nigger friend painted for me when i was a kid and I've had it my whole life and always admire it when i walk past it. i have 0 interest in digital shit.

Post your work

Also consider getting a part time job. I am in a similar situation and the experience of working full time was soul crushing. Motivated me more than ever to make it as an artist. I’m not even lazy, I would love a hard manual labor job that requires a lot of moving or lifting. But I wound up with a job at Amazon doing literal sweatshop work for 10 hrs a day doing nothing but packing boxes. Quit a few weeks ago. I started off part time and it was a lot more manageable to spend time on my artwork after a shift. But full time it’s literally impossible. Not enough time in the day, and on your days off you just wanna rest for your body to recover.

Look for a part time job to supplement your income. Check daily at Amazon, they offer part time jobs for warehouse associates all the time and it’s piss poor easy to get hired. There’s no interview, everything is automated. They don’t check for prior experience either.

You should refrain from speaking on topics you know nothing about. “Right click + fill”, because digital artists draw with a mouse? Digital art is more profitable than trad has ever been, and no, laundering schemes don’t count. Only people buying trad art are hippies and old lady’s looking for something to hang on their wall. Photoshop doesn’t allow shitty artists to make good art, the top tier digital artists are just as skilled as any of the old masters. Many of them can paint and draw traditionally but choose to do digital due to the profit and toolset that digital art provides.

Make a goal of getting a Cloud Practitioner Cert. I know how hard trades are. I also know that most days you'd come home and crash.
But you want something better, that's the first and most important step. If you think that 6hrs might be too much for you that's ok. You can do 2hrs a week, but you should be consistent.
It was very hard for me to get where I am right now, but if a retard like me could do it I think you have a chance too.

You either get education or you become a better artist but sitting on your ass hoping someone will invest in you will not work. You can use your art skills to make some beer money but it isn't something you will ever be able to live off probably. I browse different image boards and sometimes I find really good handdrawn art and I save it on my phone and never look at it again. There is so much high quality content out there for free that even the best digital artists are in a tpugh game. If you want to monetize it create retro whatever vaporwave cybersteam scenes and place products in it. Then you can provide value to a customer. E.g. make retro crap for a coffee 2 go. That Wojak could be sipping a coffee and the coffee could be the central point in the picture and everything else could spin around it. (Look at ads for beer or cigarettes and you'll know what I mean. It's always some kind of scene worshipping the product.) Good luck.

OP is a shitty artist who will never post his work because he’s afraid of criticism. He would rather perpetuate a fantasy despite knowing he’s lying to himself all because it makes himself feel better. I absolutely despise people like him.
>don’t make enough money because I’m not well known
Bullshit, your art is shit and you’re so afraid of people telling you what you already know you’ll deny reality. People like this all over /ic/ and I hate every last one of them. I will literally post my work to whoever asks because I live in reality. There’s nothing anything anyone can say about my art that I don’t already know. It won’t hurt my feelings. Imagine having such a fragile fucking ego that you are incapable of doing this. I honestly hope OP dies a wageslave at Costco, he does not deserve to make it as anything else.

I'm an artist too. I used to do contract work for the theatre industry scenic painting and prop making. I got out of that before covid, luckily. Now I manage a small art studio and teach art classes. I have no background in business or management, and no real prior experience besides having to be under budget for my prop work. It's comfy and I get to tangibly see people get better at painting when I teach. I don't have too much time for my own side work though, but I can at least pay my bills and enjoy what I do.

Aka you have one style and no one wants it.

>> No.49265222

Oh that said most dark synth type music is shit. I think the best synthwave has vocals and that will be the key to commercializing it. You probably need to find some cool looking chicks that can sing and collaborate. Don't forget that looks are more important than voice. I learnt that from all the strong voiced reality tv show fails. Oh and if you join the freemason illuminati they will open all the doors for you like what they did for that mtf Grimes.

I dunno, most of the (You)tube singers with 10k subs I've seen are men with looks and above-average vocals. Then again maybe the local algorithm is tailored to my preferences and that I'm secretly a faggot.
