I go shopping with a backpack. When I shop I take the basket of the supermarket instead of a shopping card. Avg. net income in Germoney is 25k€ (37k€ gross), avg. rent is at least 15€ per m^2 in most larger cities. But buy prices are at 5k+€ per m^2 and rising. Now let's say I want to start a family (me, wife and 2-3 kids), meaning I should have around 150 m^2 in my house (750k€), that is absolutely unachievable with an average salary. (I know that there are cheaper areas and I will make more than the avg income, but I don't want to leave my hometown and in more rural areas are less good paying jobs normally, so new calculation with lower salary and lower house prices, and starting your own company is pretty crap here too, if I actually want to build a business I probably would have to move to a different country)

Let's hope that a decent masters in CS is enough to get a good job in a recession.

I have part-time jobs since a few years already, and I already make ok money, but IT is strange here, most companies obviously want great IT and software development, but they don't see the created value and are not willing to put in the money, they only see it as cost and want to reduce it.
