Compared to other coins xrp seems slow, stagnant or even dying in regards of price. But xrp is just arranging the best conditions to go back to a steady upward trend.
In my opinion the things that will end to happen before there will be a huge spike in price are:
the escrow
more proven real use of xrp (more than cualix and SBI)
Addition to coinbase

If these three things come together, there’s a good chance that 2017 will be laughed at regarding the price of xrp

Announcements of xrp/xrapid adoption use cases certain in next weeks - see xrp market report on ripple site (I expect some of them to be serious i.e. Airbnb, Uber, Amazon, Google)
Given Ripple twitter posted coinbase petition and numerous serious coinblogs have hinted at it the past couple weeks that deal is probably done just a matter of when - I expect early January.
The lockup and Xrapid announcements guaranteed to happen by year end will bring it at least to high .30's . Maybe break .40s ATH by Jan. With coinbase we could see .60-.80 maybe higher in a month.
As you all know prices move fast when they need to.
