>development of Bitcoin and Ark listeners completed (i.e. a Smartbridge to Bitcoin)
https://medium.com/@arkaces/development-of-the-ark-and-bitcoin-listeners-completed-13494d0d95c1

>Ark will be sponsoring, attending and speaking at the North American Bitcoin Conference in Miami in January

>mobile wallets set for release soon, will be out any day now (at 98.25% and are the main priority)

>now a legally registered business entity in France, the first of its kind

>USD/ARK pairing (you read that correctly) coming to Bittrex soon

>Ark now has a Yahoo Finance listing

Encoded listeners are just a glorified shapeshift. You still have to trust the encoded listener operator not to steal your coins. Atomic swaps are better. The ArkVM is also dead in the water since it won't be running on the main chain which makes your ark tokens useless.

It didn't require armies of computers mining, fast transfers, voting gives you passive increase, smart bridges will allow things like payment portals that accept any bridged coin, etc

Lots of coins promise things like this, but the ark development team is actually delivering.

So instead of mining blocks they forge blocks. The top 51 delagates forge the blocks, and coin holders vote for delegates. The delagates in turn give their voters some of the ARK they get from forging.

Sharkpool pays the same as biz_classic but is more diluted so they pay less.

They also rely on 2 large whales are will drop out of the top-51 if they both leave.

Here are the stability numbers for the delegates where each whole number corresponds to how many of the top voters have to leave for the delegate to drop out. biz_classic is leagues beyond every other delegate and we're never going to drop out unless we fuck up enough for the top 40 people in our pool to all leave at the same time.

Biz_classic is legit and they will probably always stay within top 51 if you want a safe bet. But that doesn't change the fact their payout % is dogshit and they have an extremely over saturated number of voters so the little ark you get has to be split among more people.

biz pays 80% up to 90% after 1 month of loyalty. Where as there is several delegates sharing 90%+ from day 1 and most of them have no trouble staying within top 51. I'm currently in a 95% sharing delegate myself earning 0.8 more ark a day than i would with biz

I've been trying to get moon to agree to reduce the 80-90% warmup from 1 month to 2 weeks. It's something we're discussing and running numbers for.

The reason we do this is to incentivize people to join and stay which is how we become the most stable delegate.

As for 95% payouts, that's something we are definitely going to do in the future, just not now because of how popular/diluted we're starting to become again after we moved over 150k votes off to biz_private. If our voters want to supplement their payout they can use the faucet where every roll gets tripled for being a voter. Yeah i can appreciate that not trying to shit talk you guys I was with biz for a long time and with the original magnet delegate before that.
What made me switch was I was close to finally reaching the 90% loyalty and I withdrew 2k of my 10300 stack as i needed to liquidate some cash quickly and it completely reset me back to 80% payout so obviously then id have to wait another fucking month just to get 90% (which is a pretty standard paying amount throughout most delegates nowadays)

I'd be fine with 90% and receiving all the custom payment schedules and features and support you get with biz_classic but the 1 month warmup period is just cancer

Shitty TA bashing aside, ARK is the only coin in this crazy overbought market that I can say is undervalued with conviction. In a sea of overvalued shitcoins, pump and dumps, and major coins struggling to keep up with the times (BTC and ETH), it's refreshing to hold a coin in heavy development to become the most versatile, bleeding edge decentralized platform on the market.

I thought the site stated that the 80-90% scalar was done on a per coin basis. ie. if you hold 500 for a month, you'll get 90% on those 500, but if you move 250 out and back in the next day, 250 will get 90% and 250 will get 80%.

stop trying to "game" the market

you're not going to get rich by penny pinching the dips and crests. Just try to buy in before climbs and then switch to the next big thing before it's too late.

I literally haven't paid attention to hourly ups and down ever, all I do is try to find out what's going to go up next and swap over 25-50% of my wallet before it goes to the moon. I did it for IOTA and went from $800 overnight, then I did it for REQ and went up again, now I'm doing it for ARK.

if you want in just pull the trigger instead of trying to gamble.

Not soon. As Chang said, we are currently too diluted and inviting more people will nullify the increase you would receive. If you take a look at the bottom delegates that pay 80 - 85%, some of them earn more than the top 5 that pay 95%. biz_classic counteracts this by having a faucet that allows active voters to earn effectively 95% or more if they engage with the delegate website. We find the faucet is a good way to reward active participants in our community.

As Chang mentioned here >>4781262, biz_classic also has the largest stability of any delegate ever and has never dropped out. Sticking with us is both safe and consistently profitable, as well as ensuring you don't get dicked by pool hoppers or exploiters. You should see how much ARK you lose to pool hoppers because of people being unable to stop them - it's always an issue that's brought up in the delegate slack channel.

The second most "stable" delegate, jarunik, has been knocked out multiple times in the last 60 days, for hours at a time. Every delegate below #17 on the list Chang posted will literally drop out from ONE voter leaving. We can lose /OUR TOP FORTY/ all at once and we would still forge. We have NEVER stopped forging. Our guarantee is that the hard work we put in translates into the safest and most consistent choice, compared to bouncing around as other delegates drop out, or otherwise fail their obligations

People seem to think we're screwing them over more than the reality. The highest paying delegate, using a sample of 2k, pays 0.06748 ARK more than us daily. That delegate is del. This is before faucet earnings or compounding interest, which NO OTHER DELEGATE tracks. If you look at the graph, del stops forging if just his top two leave, then you waste 2 ARK revoting. He has dropped out. We haven't. Like most delegates, he also doesn't keep a running balance. MOST DELEGATES /STILL/ DON'T HAVE PENDING. If you have less than a decent number of ARK, they will NEVER pay you.

Not sure if memeing, but this is because of your pending amount. We're the only delegate that tracks your pending amount and compounds your interest on it. Every other delegate uses your pending for themselves and makes money off it by either voting for another delegate or themselves, earning off of your staked ARK before you receive it. We don't.

>>4782157
>>4782225
It shouldn't be resetting to 80%, there was a bug that caused that about a month ago which we fixed. I'll look into verifying that it no longer happens, but this is the first I'm hearing of it since the fix.

We cannot add a window like that, because we have had a ridiculous amount of exploiters even after TBW try to play various deposit tricks to game our system. What we are looking into is reducing the warmup window, however, to 70% starting but a two week window, which will get people to their full 90% faster while still punishing hoppers who try to get a few block's worth of ARK before fucking over a different delegate who doesn't use TBW. Hoppers don't get any "Free" ARK from us but they can fluctuate our position briefly as well as profit off other delegates after hopping to ours.

Just to clarify what Moon said.

As far as we know, every other delegate that has a float -- a pending balance they're holding for you before paying -- either uses that amount sitting in their delegate wallet to vote for themselves or another delegate so they can get paid for it.

We don't do that. biz_classic is voting for itself but its balance is ignored by our payout script. Instead, our float is added onto the balance you have in your wallet when our payout system computes your payout. So if you have 1000 ark and 20 ark pending, we calculate your payout as if you have 1020 ark. That 20 ark is pending and computed at 80% until it gets sent to you. That's why voters with pending balances will never reach a 90% on their dashboard and that's fine because we're crediting you with the balance you have pending with us.

The 'grandfathers get a higher rate thing' was dismantled. Now, the way it works is that when you first vote you receive 80% payouts and every block (or day?) it goes up by one percent. This was done to discourage pool hopping.

Oy lads, I'm that deluded nigger that has been printing ARK bills.

I've finished most of the bills.
Next step that I wanted to do was to make paper wallet generator based on those bills.
It'll be a desktop app for starters, but I'd like to offer it in web format for /biz/ on biz_classic site , if you're interested.

The idea is to put seed words on the boarders of the bill, wallet address on the right side of the bill, and optionally qr code where the number is on the right side of the bill.

What are your thoughts on this?

I read about the new loyalty system, but had the impression that the original grandfathered benefits remained as well. If this is true, does the rate on the pending balance also increase over time?

Again, quoting Chang:
>>4782380
So if you have 1000 ark and 20 ark pending, we calculate your payout as if you have 1020 ark. That 20 ark is pending and computed at 80% until it gets sent to you.

>That 20 ark is pending and computed at 80% until it gets sent to you.
So if I set my payous to monthly, will the rate on the pending amount increase over time, or will it still be calculated at 80%?

Download the official Ark wallet (https://github.com/ArkEcosystem/ark-desktop/releases)), create an 'account' (wallet)[1], send your Ark to its address then vote for a delegate in the top 51[2]. For the love of god do NOT lose your passphrase, if you lose it you are FUCKED.

I recommend biz_classic, if you read this whole thread you'll see why, but you can vote for whoever you want.

If you do end up voting for them I recommend going to their website, making an account and setting your payout schedule to monthly so you lose less in transaction fees. Play faucet afterwards, maybe you'll get lucky and get 15 Ark.

[1] https://blog.ark.io/how-to-generate-your-own-ark-address-and-passphrase-5e4e1257ca5e
[2] https://blog.ark.io/how-to-vote-or-un-vote-an-ark-delegate-and-how-does-it-all-work-819c5439da68

Also it's worth noting that the cost of voting is planned to be lowered from 1 Ark to 0.1 Ark soon™. Could be a few months yet but if you have next to no Ark at all you may be better off waiting, do the math and check.

Yes it is for smart contracts.
Smart contracts are pieces of code that are run decentralized. They are shut off from the outside world/the system they are running on (security), hence you need a virtual machine. ArkVM will be a clone of the ethereum VM

>> No.4788085

>>4788040
But where is the VM being run? This is why I'm confused. I should probably read up more on how Smart Contracts work, all I know is that they can be used for things like atomic swaps (I think), by ensuring both parties fulfil their side of the deal.

Should I liquidate my measly 1360000 sats from csgo skins to ark? It looks too promising, I'm a newfag, but reading and watching the plans for ark makes it seem like it could replace a lot of cryptos. Hell like it could be as feasible use wise as btc and ETH.

>> No.4788197

>>4788085

https://ethereum.stackexchange.com/questions/27367/what-is-the-ethereum-virtual-machine

atomic swaps do rely on contracts but smart contracts are a bit different in the sense that you can code theoretically anything with them. a smart contract on ethereum / future arkvm is basically a piece of code that is stored on the blockchain and does something if you send ark/eth to it
