yea but you are still going to pay more in those 2 years than 4 years at a state school

and I would say that the CSU system has better job placement than the UC system

My fucking nigga. Where do you go to CC (if you've moved yet or already live there)? I still like in shithole florida but I want to move to SF so I can go to de anza, which is supposedly one of the best CCs for funneling transfers into berkeley and all the other UCs and CSUs.

I'm currently going to Orange Coast College. It's hella fun.

But be careful about which CC you pick if you plan on moving out here. I started out at IVC, but had to transfer after a year. The campus was tiny and there was zero social life.

What are you looking to get into bro? How is your GPA like? Are you close to getting your IGETC done?

Seriously, community colleges get a bad rap. If at least one of your parents are poor as fuck then only put that one on your FAFSA and you literally cut the cost of your degree in half.

Most CC are commuter schools so people don't really bother to get to know each other. Get involved in clubs to meet people and to build a better resume. Make sure that you're taking the right classes in order to transfer. You don't want to be the guy on his eight semester at the CC due to poor planning. Also take your classes seriously. I've seen too many people think that they can cruise through a CC course. This might work if you're reasonably smart enough, but it'll build bad habits when you transfer. Finally, go to office hours. Since professors at CC don't usually do research, they'll be easier to talk to. It's like having your own private tutor.

I'm from Los Angeles and have lived in most of the large metro areas around SoCal.

You guys are fucking insane if you think living there is good, at all.

The price of living is high, there are minorities everywhere, people are typically not nearly as friendly as in other areas of the country.

I moved to a rural town in the North-West and have never been happier.

Yes, so long as you're broke the year before you register for FAFSA. And go to a community college. And don't get below a 2.0

You obviously didn't venture to the bad areas of San Diego that are slowly engulfing the city as more illegal immigrants pour over from Tijuana.

My cousin lives there and the rent is also ridiculous not to mention the insane amount of taxes you'll end up paying just living in Commiefornia.

problems with CC is that it is almost impossible to get the classes you want and ppl tend to graduate in 3 yrs instead of 2. Also you miss out on uni life and internship opportunities. Other than that is fine, I went to CC then transferred to a shittier CSU and will go to grad school with UC or a private school like USC or one of the claremonts

Depends on which CC to be honest. Moved from an area that was infamous for its plague that pushed incoming freshmen to have to crash, waitlist or just try another way to get classes.

Now in this new county you never hear such stories and can get into any class with ease.

Honestly, university is overrated. Alot of my friends are leading successful lives, a few got their own businesses; and only two of them attended university.

I myself was in university, physics. Was pretty good at it too. Had to take a break because of financial issues. Traveled the world, worked in a whole bunch of places, some of which I loved.
Now I'm considering picking up my father's profession, becoming an electrician, or traveling some more.

You're gonna join in the army, do and see shit most people never will. It will change you, as a person (it did me). Don't feel down, life doesn't ask us about our plans, we just do our best to make do with what it gives us.
Do what you want, not what is expected of us (going to university, getting some boring office job, etc). We're all going to die anyway, some sooner or later. Might as well enjoy life while you can.

tl;dr:
Suicide is for pussies. Life is an adventure, do what you want, not what is expected of you.

>> No.470488

>>470448

Yeah, I'll agree with that. It took me like 2 semesters to figure out how to get priority registration because the counselors refused appointments and spent like half their time recruiting high schoolers.
