This is it.

I finally get it. It hit me.

ChainLink will be the biggest thing in Crypto since ETH.

This... is... going to be fucking huge.
100 by end of 2018
1000 by end of 2020.
We are fucking going to be rich.

Link is the token.
"Smartcontract(.com)" is the company, they provide the smart contracts.

What?
As smart contracts gain mainstream use, the Chainlink network grows, meaning demand for the Link token for payment and staking grows.

I said pretty much this in the post you replied to.

LINK = Smart Contracts. It is part of the company. It is the company's token. Buying proof-of-stake coins is kin to buying stock.
The company could take USD and you could be buying stock.

This is why it is a poor investment. The demand will only grow if it is used but any company could opt to develop an alternative means for creating smart contracts. It is not the only option and it is pure and foolish speculation to believe that it will be adopted as the only option.

LINK is not comparable to proof-of-work coins that have substantially scaled in price.

No it doesn't. It had a one-off demo proof of concept.

Is your API accessible over the LINK network already? No, because they don't have a working network yet.

I'm also waiting to make data available to the network. If it were possible I would be doing it already.

Agreed that LINK's use case is extremely valid though.

Imagine if Chainlink wasn't /ourcoin/. That /biz/ had never picked up on it. It was just some irrelevant coin like DigixDAO or Metaverse ETP or Pura. No one had ever made a thread about it. In other words, imagine Chainlink didn't have all the baggage associated with it on this board.

How would you react if you were hearing about it for the first time now? A coin outside the top 100, with industry backing from the likes of SWIFT, only 2 months since ICO, well below ATH, been in development for 4 years, aiming to open up smart contracts to the wider world. The OP says it's not yet listed on any major exchanges and that the team only have to port their code over to Go and are looking to release a working mainnet early next year.

Sounds like a good deal to me. Try and keep a more long-term perspective.

Or just FUD it for fun despite holding it, that's good too

Link is the token used for payment by users, and for staking by nodes.
As the network grows, the demand (for payment and staking) will grow.

This isn't very difficult to understand, I have no idea why you're struggling.

>any company could opt to develop an alternative means for creating smart contracts
Ok?
So invest in those.

Fyi, there have been a number of oracle solutions, but Chainlink blows them all out of the water.

“But I don’t want it.”

“But it’s valuabke! I WORKED FOR IT!”

“Yeah, I see that. It doesn’t do anything though, it’s not leveraged in any tech. There’s no utility other than the value you’ve given it. Unlike that link token, that has leverage, and thus potential value based off its utility in the oracle network.”

PoW is valuable when you’re the first mover. Lmao not when there’s a million of them and they’re value is given because someone worked for it.

People make shit arts and crafts all day, they value. No gonna buy it though because I don’t want it. You’re forgetting about s and d.

Hold a little bit of LINK at least man. Don’t be daft.
