4128990 No.4128990 [Reply] [Original]

Can we have an actual discussion as to why BTC is rising to severely? Nothing happens without a reason.

>last day of China withdraw ability should see 5-10% drop
>however, rumor that they will be let back into the market by the government
>people stocking up early for the fork mid Nov.
>Tether inflating by certain exchanges (not verified AFAIK)

What else are we missing here? I'm not against BTC mooning, but there hasn't even been a correction or substantial dip before this took off.

Well, the real question is how much will people over look. MBS funds continued to go up despite higher default rates and such. So it's not a question of if, but what will cause the collapse. Even bitcoin advocates admit it's a bubble.

That's also why it's so hard to short, it's not based on reality and not even false sentiment, but rather manipulation and shady shit. Figuring out how it's manipulated exactly will be what makes someone rich as they'll know how to short it. Then when it comes to light there will be a crater.

All you idiots with TA analysis don't understand this isn't a boomer market where your shitty predictive models even remotely work.

The crypto market is driven by hype and has a low attention span. Bitcoin is the hype right now. Now ask yourself these questions:

1. Are there psychological barriers? No, not until 10k.

2. What is coming up? The fork, and the precedent for the last two forks has been moon. This one is no different. People want free 2x. With no psychological barriers, this will be a self-fulfilling prophecy.

3. How do people value bitcoin? Is it overvalued? No, the main hurdle was when Bitcoin went to $100, or to $1000, or even past $5000. Now we're at $6300. Everyone knows Bitcoin is going to 10k, 20k, even 50k. The jump from $100 to $1000 was much harder than the jump from $6000 to $150000 is going to be. It's only a matter of time. Therefore, there is increased buy pressure to make this happen and low sell pressure.

4. Normie interest from literally everywhere. I see blockchain spammed on LinkedIn, Bitcoin mentioned on Facebook, Reddit is spamming it. Bitcoin is now what Ethereum was in March.

5. Now that Bitcoin is so massive, it cannot correct to extreme levels like it did. If you noticed, when it dropped to 3k, it immediately bounced back violently. And the only reason it crashed was because of the Chinese news. The value has been established and the only dip you'll see is maybe -10% or so, as it was when it hit 6k the first time and fell to $5200. The only thing that could cause BTC to truly crash is not some TA-inspired bullshit "correction" but actual bad news. Because this market is driven by news and hype.

Now, you could push against the tide and keep ignoring it, and then FOMO in at 10k, lose 80% of your alt value, or you could actually use your brain. Personally, I bought in at $5800.

as the market cap rises btc comes more available for hedge funds. now that btc has passed 100b it's becoming more lucrative as a hedge for bond, real estate and equite markets. silver and gold are losing ground as a major hedge. still, 100b will not put you even top 20 in dow jones, so potentially btc market cap could even triple in quite short period of times if more institution starts to use it as a major hedge.

Correct, they happen in patterns which can be predicted using TA because TA is a predictor of performance based on group psychology. That's why it works.

There is no TA out there that says that something can rise 700% over a year without going down significantly.

If you really want to hold through the crash, you'll be fine as it will eventually go back up, but if you were smart you would be taking profits.

Incorrect. The value is driven by hype and news. Btc will collapse if there is a good reason for it to, and no sooner than that.

TA analysis is based on human psychology.
TA is only good at predicting what's going to happen in the next time period, and only gives you an edge (51%-80%) for certain patterns.

But your post fits perfectly within the "new paradigm"/"mania" phase that is so often posted here. It's basically TA on longer time frames, "bull run psychology".

But as any experienced trader will tell you, just because you can identify a mania phase, doesn't mean you know when it's going to end. it can last months longer than you expect it to

you say this when literally every single altcoin is in its infancy and being developed with its full release planned in the future, most of them 2018.
you have 0 historical evidence to back this up, why do you think that all of these companies will fail? this is the inception of the cryptocurrency market..

Bitcoin is only able to retarget difficulty every 2016 blocks, regardless of how long those blocks take to be found.
What this means is that if Bitcoin Core loses a lot of hashpower in late October or November to either S2X or Bitcoin Cash,
that the Bitcoin Core chain may pile up beyond salvation with unconfirmed transactions and will be unable to extricate itself
from the ensuing death spiral even if it miraculously received a difficulty re-target because of the 1MB block size.

Thus, it's important for every single Bitcoin Core holder to hold a hedge for this potential event, in my opinion.
