I only recently made my first transactions with LTC.
I paid a few cents in fees to send 50 ltc and it arrived in 3 minutes.
That plus you can trade LTC almost anywhere for fiat and other coins.

To put things into perspective.
I also sent my ether from exchange to wallet and I had to pay $1.5 in fees and it took bout 4 minutes.
I'mo I don't think I'll ever buy bitcoin again.
