They are as quantum resistant as bitcoin they just increased the hash length.

Communicating with satellites will be slow and they have to use light as bandwidth is already government regulated.

It is hugely optimistic project and I think it's awesome but it will take years for anything useable to be developed. Yes they may be launching cube sat next year but so fucking what, if it's a shitty network no one will use it. And it will be shitty.
