Since you guys have given me decent advice, I'll contribute a little with my own research.

ok so I've been looking into COSS.io because I've got another 5k euroes to spend on crypto. I checked out their whitepaper, their website, and the founder. Here's the info:

Founder, Dan Cearneau. Owns and operates "Under Development Office" in Romania, since 2011. He says his company has done work for big names like PwC, but when you dig into it he just made an app for a conference event for PwC to handle its influx of employees:
"PwC Events is an internal mobile app for PwC CEE (Central Eastern Europe) that enables the company’s staff to have access to PwC events in the region. For each event, the employees of the consultancy giant can view all the important info regarding the specific event, from date, time and location to the list of atendees. The app also includes a forum-type module and a leaderboard to showcase the most active users."

His other projects are similarly small scale apps, for small companies or projects. There's no proof that this guy or his Romanian team can handle what COSS is supposed to be. I don't buy it. Any better coins out there?

To add to this, for the first COSS coin swap, each COSS was worth around 0.50 USD. Its current value is 0.12. Why buy now?
