Because there is more then just one approach to privacy you monero fudding shills.

Verge is aiming for better security and privacy while at the same time offering much faster transaction times. They handle this differently by having a transparant ledger, but giving users the option to obfuscate their IP adresses using the soon the be implemented wraith protocol in combination with Tor and I2P.

I also strongly believe that a serious currency aiming for mass adoption needs a public ledger so users can actually see how many folks are using it and how its distributed.

Instead of being a competitor of monero, it will simply coexist with it because of the simply fact that the XVG devs are approaching privacy from a different perspective.

Be smart and buy it, because it WILL moon sooner or later.
