Most of the Panda v3 guys are huge Doge holders.

Wolong and Molly created Pandacoin to drive Chinese money away from Doge towards their scamcoin. Wolong is openly calling his coin "Doge 2.0" and he's bragging about destroying the daytraders on /g/ with his pump 2 weeks ago.

We're gonna wreck his plans by creating replicas and destroying the credibility of all the versions of Pandacoin, basically by dilution and confusion.

I've already started mining with one pool, but the kh/s that shows on the website fluctuates between ~120 and ~250 while my computer consistently reports ~220. Is this normal? Will it average out? Does it have anything to do with my activity on the computer while I mine?

I've never heard of either of those pools.

...which doesn't mean anything since more pools are shooting up all the time.

things to look out for in a pool:

Do they let you manually cash out
Does your automatic payments cash out
how much of a pool fee do they take? 1% is normal. less than 1% is very nice more is less good.

Some of the really bad pools ask like 3% which is way too much.

you also have to make sure that pools never get too much of the overall network hashrate.

But plenty of people keep an eye on that sort of thing so you don't have to be super vigilant just remember what I said about "not too big"

basically mine with a pool for a few hours and if you start having problems then jump to another until you find one you like.

I have used:
https://doge.netcodepool.org/

but you could easily find better probably.

they have 2.0% pool fee so look around for better if you like.

but atleast that pool is relatively trustworthy.

basically if someone gets 51% of the network hashrate and they know what they are doing they can re-write the rules of the coin and basically do whatever they want.

Create coins, delete coins. shut down everything.

It's not a huge worry since people are super vigilant about it happening.

also it's pretty complicated to actually pull off.

Still something to watch out for.

we've had some close shaves with pools getting too much hashrate before now.

but thankfully those pools shut down when they got too big because they know that any pool getting too much hash scares the crap out of people.

it's meant to work that way actually.

really dont think you can do that.

there is one very, very esoteric and theoretical attack called a time warp but i think it was patched maybe?

but it's really obvious

basically what they have to do is build up their own chain (which means the 51%+ attacker would STOP RELEASING PUBLIC BLOCKS WHICH WOULD BE OBVIOUS AS FUCK WITHIN AN HOUR) - run said chain for like, 2 weeks or something -- artifically set the difficulty to like 1 with forged timestamps between their blocks -- and then mine the rest of the 10,000,000 bitcoins in a few seconds.

I think that the earliest verisons of multidoge actually couldn't be encrypted.

I'm not sure if it ever made it out of beta in that stage or not.

I do remember multidoge having a problem with encryption mentioned somewhere earlier on.

Whatever it was is fixed now.

also the earliest versions of the qt could encrypt either but again all fixed now.

cgminer.exe --scrypt -o Pool Address:Port -u Pool Username.Worker Name -p worker password

for basics, and just run that. You can fiddle around with your settings like the intensity and all that, just make sure you use AMD Override to set your fan higher and such.

Sorry faggots, but you're not going to be redeemed.

You fucked up. You were too late for Bitcoin, you'll always be too late for Bitcoin, and your LE MEME currency isn't going to be taken seriously. Sure, there's a bunch of you brainless faggots mining the shit, but nobody with actual money is going to buy it.

It applies to shitcoins because the NEETs of /g/ have thousands of hashes to shoot at coins that a bunch of dorks will in turn buy for cash money.

online wallets hold your private keys for you, they can steal your coins at any time.

multidoge the keys never leave your computer. so only you can spend your coins. multidoge is a SPV client (as described by satoshi in his original paper), google "bitcoin spv" if you want to know more.

The attacker first creates a transaction, sending some coins to an address(this is the legit one), and then creates another one where he spends the coins he just spend, sending it to another address(this address might be his address to take back the coins). This is the malicious one. After the legit transaction has 1 confirmation, the attacker attempts to "orphan" the block containing the legit transaction. This is done by creating 2 blocks, both the block which has the legit transaction(that is removed and the malicious transaction is put in place), and another block, making the attacker's blockchain longer. If the attacker succeeds, the attacker can effectively reverse the transaction.
