Son, you gotta pick a good company and stick with it. I worked there day in and day out for thirty years and see what it got me!

>tfw almost bought into bitcoin when it was 750 a while ago and again back in april when it was 1200 along with eth at like 45
>tfw boomer dad ranted for hours about it being fake money backed by nothing when i said i was going to invest a few thousand into it
>tfw being the weak beta i am i ended up not pulling the trigger
>this lost me thousands and thousands of dollars
>also was offered a new job back in may that paid 22 bucks an hour but dad didnt like the owner and said i could easily get the same job making 25 an hour and to just apply for others
>listened to his advice and now here i am still working the same minimum wage job after having applied to countless companies
>he still thinks he was right about these decisions and says i just need to buckle down and call up companies and ask if they are hiring like he did

55 year old boomer aunt: "If you need some extra money, why not try working at the supermarket on the weekends. I know guys that did that for years and they got a pension out of it." A PENSION. From working PART TIME! At a supermarket! I seriously thought she was fucking with me but no she was dead serious.

And also, good luck finding something just for the weekends, I tried this and keep getting turned down because they need all their employees available to work at least 5 days out of the week.

Just turned 22 and this fact dawned on me not too long ago. Its a tough pill to swallow when growing up you expect your parents to be all knowing when in reality theyre extremely average.

>Mention that I want to attend free training courses
>Get yelled at for not focusing attention on college
>Read a book
>Get shit for not focusing on college
>Want to get a job
>COLLEGE
>Finish and get a job
>Get shit for working more than 40 hours a week

>Signup for cash back credit card
>"Anon, why did you sign up for a credit card instead of using the retardedly low point card that the credit union offers?"

>See that they keep $100,000~ in a 0.16%savings account (mfw)
>Mention high yield savings and money market
>Get a rant about having "loyalty to the credit union and how it pays off"

>>3571552
Everything I do that's even a little bit different gets some kind of passive aggressive to outright angry response. Stop listening to your parents and start making money.

You have a house and a decent wage and some kids.

So in other words you did not fucking achieve anything at all, you're just an average cuck.

Shut the fuck up until you have a successful business or a decent sized portfolio of stocks.

These is NOTHING impressive about being average. NOTHING.

Well, he is right. Even if the other choices had better results, his were based on sound principles.

His only mistake is he doesn't know enough. Your mistake is that you didn't do proper research.

For me it's the opposite. I heard about bitcoin in 2012 and thought it sounded like some incredibly lame /g/ bullshit. Well when I explained how it worked to my 80 year old dad the other day he was super excited by the potential and technology of it and said if I'd told him about it five years ago he would have said to invest ten thousand dollars into it.

We could have had on he order of a hundred million dollars right now if I had actually talked to my dad instead of being a smug nocoiner.

Did you happen to mention what the price of BTC is now to your dad during that conversation?

If so then of course he is gonna say "why didn't you tell me about BTC 5 years ago. I would have told you to invest $10k".

Hindsight is 20/20 and all that shit

yeah my dad did this, lmao
and he neither invested in the 90s into MS, nor did he use the 2008 crash for massive gain potential.
Boomers are so retarded, if i was born 20 years earlier i could have made so much money as a 90s CS student and use all the pumps.
I hope we can make this now, guys. And then let us have a laugh
