Sup /biz/,

Internet marketing thread.

My team develops and pushes adware. We've been in this space for a few years, and we've been lucky enough to see some very solid returns from our work.

Any fellow IMers around? I've got some free time today. Feel free to ask me anything about the Pay Per Install industry or internet marketing in general.

I'm also interested in networking with anyone looking to buy or sell toolbar inventory, affiliate marketers, Tech Startup guys, venture capitalists, etc.

My background:

College drop out

High 5 figs a month (50% goes to downstream partners, the other 50% is split between me and my team). If you're asking how installs are produced, there's a bunch of ways but typically our downstream partners use media buys and co-registration paths.

Have you ever installed VLC or some other freeware and been asked to install the ask toolbar? Same sort of thing.

Yeah. Here's an example campaign that I'd recommend:

Go sign up for clickbank as an affiliate or publisher.
Find a good paying offer for a PUA class.
Create a few banners that you think neckbeards on /r9k/ or /a/ would click.
Use some anime girl and emotion invoking ad copy like "I can show you how to get laid."

Pay $100 or whatever to place banner on boards with the most neckbeards https://www.4chan.org/advertise?selfserve

???????

Profit.
I'm not even joking. I bet that campaign would turn a quick profit. Rinse and repeat. There are tons of courses you can pirate that teach you how to execute media buys. You can find offers to promote on offervault.com.

o-okay senpai.

Point is to pick a good product and buy media on sites your target demographic frequents.

>>317850
Yeah it was just an example.
Promote a fitness product on /fit/ or a gun site on /k/.
Weight loss products on recipe sites. Dating offers on porn sites... etc etc.

It's all about taking the plunge, understanding you'll likely lose money before turning a profit. Once you profit, continue the campaign and set up others. Rinse/Repeat and $1k/day isn't out of reach at all.

Sign up for clickbank and peruse through their offers. If you don't want to promote a virtual product, you can promote various other CPA (cost per action) offers. To find these, head to offervault.com and browse through their offers.

Join a bunch of CPA networks. They're listed on offervault.

After picking an offer or two in your desired vertical, sign up for an advertising account on sitescout.com. They require you load the account with a minimum of $500. Hopefully you can scrape that together.

Create some banners or find ones you like and rip them off. Start buying media and placing banners on sites you think will work with the offers you've chosen. Watch your CTR (Click through ratio) and conversions closely to gauge profit or loss. Keep everything in a spreadsheet.

Split test lots of banner creatives to figure out which perform best. Sometimes the best performing banner will suprise you.

Don't be afraid to lose $20 here and $50 there. With enough testing, you'll find a campaign that turns a profit. Rinse and repeat until you've got a substantial income with minimum work.

Good luck anon.

PS search and pirate legitimate courses on media buying. I'm just giving you a rough guide on getting started. Remember to appeal to your demographic's emotion. Look into learning to write good sales copy. Maybe learn photoshop so you can create your own banners quickly and effectively.

Are you serious? Do you think theres anything salvageable there?
Maybe I didn't lurk harder enough, buy I'm under the impression that there's only skiddie shit there.
I'm was thinking more in the line of tor/i2p and iirc sources that you'd know/recommend.
Well, I'll keep on fishin.
And congrats on one of the few nonshit thread on this board. Have another bump.

where you can sort "making money" section by rating. Read all 5 star threads dated before say 2012 and you're bound to find something. That said, the quality's gone down a ton in the last couple years. It's mostly dog shit now.

Quick question for anyone knowledgeable about email marketing.

Is this still a profitable venture or is it too saturated? I have a pretty solid website/squeeze page up and running with a fee hundred subscribers but only about11% conversion. If its still a profitable venture I'll put in the time and money to more aggressively promote myself but I also don't want to end up looking like I'm trying to scam people by over promoting.
Anyone have any experience or thoughts on this?
