These indexers receive a fee for the use of their service, which depending on who you choose to delegate to you get x fee for helping them out. Once your delegation is complete you get GRT in return as well. When you choose to delegate some of your GRT is burnt to incentivize you keeping the GRT delegated for the full period.
At the moment fiat is still being used to pay for GRT use by third parties (ie Uniswap). But soon only GRT will be accepted as payment.

So. As more chains are integrated, morw subgraphs released etc. the amount of queries rises exponentially.
This will result in 1% burn of all the query costs in grt.
I have a few problems with this:
-the token burn will be at a constant rate in USD since query costs are measured in usd. This means that the token’s own value is not massively influenced by token burn, especially if it’s priced very high, since burn is only a miniscule amount in that case.
-with staking being based on querying costs and income from that being distributed to the indexers and delegators, as with before, the token’s own value in usd is rather meaningless as all the exchanges between parties will be, by default, measured in usd.
Am I missing something here? There’s no point in grt having a random value in usd apart from some random 3rd party having to purchase an amount to get into the protocol?

Not trying to fud, but I 2.5x'd on GRT and then moved it all to HBAR and MATIC. I really like GRT, and if my portfolio was 6 figs or high 5 figs i would have kept all or most of my GRT. I just don't see it doing more than 2-3x in the next year. Portfolio is low 5 figs. If there's another dip to ~ 1.50-1.60 going to pick up a 1.5k bag and forget about it for 2-3 years.

The only thing that needs to be done is to keep an eye out for serious competitors. Otherwise it's guaranteed to grow.
