Im totally out of my element here but it seems a little hard to believe.

Lithium is a salt and the ideal way to mine it would be finding brines with high lithium content and then flooding a plain with it and waiting for the water to evaporate. Then you would have actual piles of lithium on the ground and I think that would be a lot easier than trying to extract it from rocks.

Im much more of an oil guy but if you tasked me with producing a lot of lithium this is 100% the method i would use.
