We will literally need to pump the price by sheer FOMO. Let me try to do the math for the retards who think the squeeze has been squoze or that the short % dropped significantly. Cohen owns 13% of 70m shares. Institutions hold 200% of shares. Insiders hold 22%. Retail holds approximately 10% of shares. That brings us to 245%. Which would mean that at the very least 145% of the stock is shorted. This doesn't take into account the percentage of shares that gamestop as a corporate entity self custodies.

Basically it's the same thing as a short except the buyer doesn't hold the securities and it's all dealt with in payments of the underlying asset. Explains why the GME price shot up when the FED and MMs had a blackout because they had to cover the losses of not receiving money and sitting on the risk of the shorts entirely so they actually had to close some shorts for real (just a theory who knows what the fuck happened, but it's suspicious the price shot up the moment power went out and they couldn't shift money around anymore)
