people think crypto is just bitcoin and it's currency-like features
I think you're underestimating the value of DeFi and other applications. It's currently better the interest I get staking DAI than in any bank and it's actually safer than a bank.

On the most basic level, there is no intrinsic or conceptual difference between crypto or fiat. They both have exactly the value you ascribe to them.

Not far off from the truth since majority of crypto is traded to FIAT or stablecoins. However, since crypto has shown use in black market too, there would be some value in them still. Perhaps the value of crypto would not be that far away from the original prices at their inception as bubble cycles would be made without FIAT markets IMO.

It stops the instant Asia dumps the dollar and says, "Sorry, if you want our oil, our goods, our commodities, you'll pay gold for them or you'll get nothing--no shitcoins accepted."

governments can keep printing fiat devaluing the currency to keep its utility, by investing in the right crypto, you're hedging against inflation

The Pinakion token is needed in order to vote on cases, the value of each token goes beyond money. Each token represents JUSTICE; fair incentivized voting via Scheling Theory.

In the future when the global economic system collapses arbitration will be done purely through Kleros in an anynomous, decentralized manner.

Your frame of reference for value is exclusively in USD. Your brain knows the value of 1k usd rather than .04 btc. In time ideally as usd dies everything will be in reference to sats

if fiat goes completely something will replace it, crypto can always be measured by whatever's replaced it. The price/demand for it would crash surely but unless all infrastructure dies crypto won't be worthless.

crypto has no value (it can't "do" anything), what it does have is a price.

the biggest stumbling block i see is that governments/companies wouldn't be able to sell bonds that pay out in a finite blockchain, and people wouldn't agree to any loans in a finite blockchain.

for crypto to replace fiat, governments would need to accept it for taxes, it would have to be viable for a bond market (you have no idea how big the bond market is), and the supply would need to increase at some rate.

for reasons i won't spend much time on, the functional bitcoin supply can increase (as there's no limit to the number of bitcoin blockchains that can exist), but that's not a very elegant solution. it would be much better to have a blockchain that can scale with global production changes.
