Thoughts on swing trading? I have a few thousand bucks and doing some trading with high leverage seems more profitable than just holding coins and hoping they go up. Am I wrong?

High risk high reward. Also it's gambling.

Holding is also gambling with most shitcoins. Even most "legit" projects never go anywhere

Take a toilet bowl and swirling it with a spoon is more profitable than crypto, because it keeps you busy instead of wasting your fucking money. But swing trading is risky but can be profitable. It's not worth it in my opinion though, too much stress and not enough profit to justify it. Put your money in some solid companies and by stocks on sale. Then forget about it and wait.

Holding or trading can both be gambling if you don't know what you're doing and don't have any kind of strategy. Just because you buy some crap because it was shilled doesn't make you an investor. And if you just fomo and then panic sell you're not a trader either

because you will generally have less average gains than holding a good project that is bound to go up.
what happens when you sell and it starts to take off? you FOMO back in and then it crashes? Every new trader goes through this thinking they're going to be hot shit, and every experienced/mature trader begins to realize that patience is the major rewarder (in the crypto world anyway). Also you'll pull your fucking hair out and your life will really be stressful. Don't underestimate that.

You guys have the wrong idea about gambling. Gambling is when you cannot analyse the process and the odds are against you by a large number like 1 in a million.
>HMM i want to open a drink shop tomorrow! What ever happens, happens; i dont give a fuck
This is gambling. Simply relying on chance.

With trading or investing, you can analyse the supplies, projects, behaviours, sentiments, news, etc. in order to reduce your risk. Then you can develop your strategy using the info you gathered.
>I need to open a drink shop, my town has been searching for the trendy soda in the neighbouring town. If I can help them save their time travelling, I can make a profit by buying there and selling in my town.
This is trading, analysis and strategy present.

>Hey anon, so you want to open up a drink shop for the trendy soda? I like the trendy soda. You need any financial help?
This is investing, you know where you put your money is and what it does.

Smart traders understood that trading is a game of ego, this is why a trader needs to QUICKLY develop the ability to admit it when you're doing something wrong and stay humble when you're right.
>Why?
Because when you're wrong, nobody's going to tell you until it is too late for you to realize causing you losses here and there.

Trading is a game of patience too. Who FOMO or panic first, loses. This is why strategy exist, strategy comes from the need of being patient. The ones who fomo or panic dont use a single strat, period.

You can analyze the process in gambling. You know exactly what your odds are when you play certain games like roulette. There is nothing that is guaranteeing you get shit when you leverage or trade. It is gambling and you're a coomer gambler and you get the fucking ROPE.

You ever wonder why all cryptos simultaneously drop at the exact same time bitcoin drops? Its because bots (algos) are controlling exchange trades. Youll never beat them on the short term side. They read a market signal and immediately transact without any human emotion. Multiple bots will do this and theyll essentially control the direction and spread of whatever crypto youre trying to sell. Theyre called automatic market makers and theyre responsible for over 70% of trade volume in this space. If you want to beat them and actually make a nice profit, youll have to make a long term trade (ie where you think the market will be in 12-24hrs). Youll almost always get btfo trying to swing in real time. Its like trying to play chess with a computer. They process every move you make and react accordingly with the most successful possible move before, during, and after you hit buy/sell. The fancier ones even have human capitulation factored into their algos. Sorry you had to learn this way OP but it will save you a lot of money, time, and stress if you know about this now.

I see. Then maybe I misunderstood your definitions of shitcoins.

To me, it is BRAP, MCDC, HOGE, NIGGER, etc. These tokens getting shilled have unclear objectives so it will be gambling to me even tho they do 100x or whatever.

But projects like FTM, GRT, LINK, RLC, ZRX, etc. you can see their roadmap/mission (strategy) then invest on them.

>>30277525
You write like you're trying to cope with your bad trades.

>>30277547
Since you know how the bots behaviour work, you can make a strat to counter their behavior or at least reduce the effect of market swings generated by them.

Profitable human traders exist is the thesis that there is always a strategy to move around the market. I have stumbled upon on many profitable trader anons in multiple biz discords and they consistently make good trades, of course there will be losses here and there due to sudden changes of our world but I am very impressed by them.
