I don't know, maybe maybe not. I'm not tech savvy. It definitely seems to be aiming at further innovation, and they have some reputable partnerships. Creating a network that can be verified and secure between consumer accessible devices seems to be an intelligent goal given certain political realities. I know BTC maxis will say that mining is done 80% renewable or whatever, but BTC will be attacked by Yellen and crew for its "inefficiency". I'm not even saying the attack is valid or not, I could care less. But it will happen. And when it happens there is going to be a door opening for new tech. Bitcoin has first adoption status at this point, and that is all. If there is actually any utility to this tech, BTC will have to move to the sidelines and pretty soon.

Dude, it's been around since the 50's, there is no answer to prevent it other than traditional IT security measures. It's just as this grows in popularity the target on their back will increase. I should note, I'm not fudding, I'll grab some now they've actually got some traction going but for the life of that investment I'd keep a close eye on the cryptography space, keep tabs on recent breaches. This is one area where if it was an actual block chain it would be immune to such attacks.
