there is a precedent that everything should take way longer than it does. if im given work that has 8 hours allocated to it, it really only takes 2.

Is there a wfh/tech career that pays well that DOESNT require a computer science degree? I have an engineering degree & math minor. Sick of the industry and want to transition into tech somehow. Been working through some web dev basics to get started

I'm still waiting for the first thing to do today ahhhhh. I went to the gym, cranked it, showered, and hours later, still just browsing biz. fgm.

going to have to work through the morning unfortunately. then comfy afternoon again
working with engineering boomers during wfh is surprisingly great because they already all have several decades of training to fear missing their utilization targets. the sheep will all charge most of their time to programs whilst doing nothing

Don't go the front end route, that's unironically for pajeets.
The best tech jobs are ones that *aren't* tech jobs, ie jobs that require you have core competency in something else, and then you add tech to it. These are the jobs that they can't farm out to pajeets or automate away in five years.
I know you said you hate the industry, but you'd be much better off figuring out how you move sideways into a job in your industry that requires your skillset but has more of a coding focus. Throwing away your skillset completely is never a good idea, you want to laterally shift over time.

Yeah, I don’t plan on it after hearing this multiple times on biz. What about Fullstack though? I figure with my engineering experience/degree, I could get a decent junior dev position if I’m good with Java and have a nice GitHub for recruiters. I know it will take a while to get good but my current career path is a nightmare and low paying.
