Seriously though, has anyone checked just how good those "predictions" are? Wouldn't be surprised if you lost insane amounts if you just blindly bought/sold whenever "analysts" tell you to.

I actually want to run a small experiment with MACD. It seems too good to be true that the lines always cross whenever the price goes up and down. I'm wondering if it's just confirmation bias or that the line-crossing appears too late in order to make any significant gains.

Anyways, I plan on just throwing $20 at some random coin and following MACD. I'll trade whenever the lines cross at a 7day or 1m level. After a few months, I'll see if I would have had more coins/money if I had have just held the entire time.

I think I'll program a bot that just checks the S&P 500 and one of the bigger coins every day and if they're buy/hold/sell on yahoo finance or some shit and buy accordingly, I feel like it'll be blood red after a month but who knows lol.

macd rising doesn't ALWAYS mean the price is going to go up. The macd can start slightly rising but then the price go sideways and then the macd fizzles back out and readjusts itself downwards. The trick with macd is that they're an average of a candlestick, so if the wick is high then the macd will look like it's spiking but once that candle finishes lower that point on the macd will go down. This is only visible on lower timeframe candle charts.

there was an anon here that ran a MACD bot on high cap, high issued coins like HBAR and had it trade everytime the MACD crossed with a 4% stop loss. He was trading small amounts ($500) on multiple coins that were clearly manipulated by bots that filled the books on both sides with their orders. Said the bot would sometimes do hundreds of trades a day and clear 1-3% with a ~70% win ratio.

last thread I saw by him he said once the bull run started in January the amount of trade bots increased which means his buy / sell orders would get identified by one of the higher tier ones, it'd drop the price by 5% to trigger a sell, clear the order book, and jump 3-5% so his bot wouldn't auto-buy back in. Hope this helps fren
