>Instead of a multinational asset manager or any other large enterprise assembling a blockchain team for every blockchain that they might want to integrate, you can easily integrate Chainlink to connect to any blockchain environment. Building your own connections to various blockchains will be unbelievably difficult because the communities are small, and integration support is limited for many exciting up-and-coming blockchains. This is true even for the blockchains that already have many assets on them as it's still a challenge to hire knowledgeable developers.

>Rather than having 50 or 100 blockchain keys for you to conduct commerce, it is a risk-adjusted approach to have blockchain capability built directly into your backend through a secure blockchain middleware. This is the other big problem that Chainlink solves for enterprises when they ask, "How do I connect to every blockchain where I want to conduct commerce, own assets, trigger transactions, or understand what's going on in those blockchains?"

One of the biggest things for biz to overcome in our time is to beat the price suppression bastards at their own game. Biz needs some big brain like fucking DVF to make this happen. Who will be the DVF of biz??

No enterprises ask this.

can someone tell me how these alt coin companies make money once they run out of tokens to dump to fund the business? do they just stop development at that point or do they work for free or what

Chainlink is charging the current users.
At some point they'll have to start buying Chainlink tokens to pay the nodes.

>> No.30185984

>>30185941
so does chainlink like generate the tokens and sell them on the market do make money?

>> No.30186063

>>30185984
They probably sell tokens for funding as well, but about half the weekly "dumps" go straight into the network.
They also pay salaries in Link tokens (or at least they did early on).
They will likely start buying Link tokens to pay the nodes long before their own reserves are depleted.

This is how the economic system is supposed to work: the users pay the contract operator, and the contract operator pays the nodes in Link.

so is the contract operator the chainlink company? after the network works the way it is supposed to and they finish dumping all their tokens how does like sergey and the employees generate money to continue developing the network?

>> No.30186341

>>30186206
>so is the contract operator the chainlink company?
Right now, Chainlink is the only contract operator.

The idea is to allow literally anyone to become a contract operator, node, user, source, ... but that will only be possible after things like staking, reputation, etc.

>after the network works the way it is supposed to and they finish dumping all their tokens how does like sergey and the employees generate money to continue developing the network?
That's why I said they'll start buying Link tokens before they run out of reserve; that reserve is pretty much the only source of development funding they will ever have.

They probably aren't trying to make a profit from running the current network. At most, every Link Chainlink pays to the node operators is covered by the fees paid to Chainlink by the users (Aave, Synthetix, ...).
That's why it would make sense for them to start buying that Link on the open market at some point: they won't lose any money.
