This is important to know, because there is a small group of people dragging this board down by promoting idleness and bad investment decisions. If you chose to invest, please remember that success is not measured solely on gains, but rather on production and more importantly one's happiness and place in society. I hope everyone enjoys their evening and for those who are browsing and do not have a job, I'd like to remind you that Spring time is right around the corner and we are always looking for people in the landscaping industry.

Those are tricky to staple. I use the same mask over and over until the rubber band pops out. I've found that it's easier to just make a small slit in the mask and tie the band through there than to try and re-staple it. Although it's better to just get a new one.

ya its not bad, and definitely one of the easier trades laborwise, except for your hands/forearms if you have to cut thicker gauge steel all day long. If the section you're doing has lots of corners or weird architectural "features" you have to make shitloads of small detail cuts that you cant really have fabricated offsite. Since we usually have to be in and out of jobsites quickly (finishing trades always start piling ontop of each other at the end of jobs), we get a green light to order lifts/cranes/scaffolds/etc whenever we need if it will make our job quicker and easier. It would be a lot shittier if we didnt have access to that stuff.

Residential siding/soffit/fascia guys (basically the residential equivalent of my job) definitely work way harder and I dont really envy their job at all.

If you can get your foot in the door and get into the coding test rounds it's pretty much down to how well you execute on coding interview questions. Read CTCI (/g/ should really bring up this book more but they don't), grind some leetcode, and if/when you get to the onsite round don't act completely autistic and you'll be fine. Team matching (seeing if there's any actual team in the company who wants you/has budget for you) can still screw you over afterwards, but that's out of your hands.

>How stacked was your resume
I had two non-FAANG internships, only one in the Bay Area but with companies you've definitely heard of before prior (don't waste your summers playing vidya if you can help it), and a decently-active Github with at least one project that's gotten some minor attention on /g/ before. So definitely far above average, but still below some people I knew at school. Honestly felt I could've done better if I applied myself, but whatever.

>where'd you go to college

Just about everything... right now, I’m working on an intake plenum. The design is split into two pieces because I’m working on the models for the shell moulds to make the sand casting halves from. First, I design the part in CAD based on velocity simulations, then I 3D print and test fit (repeat if modifications are necessary). I’ll go back to my models and create designs for moulds. I use 3D print shells filled with epoxy/sand to make sand moulds and then plugs for internals from sandwich shells.... pour molten aluminum into the moulds and refine with a vertical mill. This intake is made of this main runner body, two cast end caps and then a sheet of aluminum bent over a radius for the plenum, all tigged together.

I make a lot of different performance parts for engines, composite body parts, electronics and circuitry, etc...

I am only 23 and I wish my friends were interested enough to want to get into this. It's good money with great residual income through policy renewal commissions, and the fact that I deal with mainly under 65yo clientsmean they're not on the radar of the big firms and their scummy call centers . I was quite a social retard before I started and I've managed pretty well. I swear I should start a discord and help some of you fags through the licensing process and getting on your feet. Most of my peers are old enough to be on medicare themselves lol. Apologies for the punctuation im phonefagging while cooking dinner.

No joke, VWs are my life. I probably would have done it for just materials to hang out with other VW people. I do that a lot. The intake manifold pictured is an 8v manifold to add to my parts catalogue... after prototyping, I outsource manufacturing and either sell in mass under my own name or brand it for any number of different companies and sell directly and exclusively to them.

The field has been hot in recruitment for several years, but it will go up a notch once all the boomers start retiring. The workload isn't too bad since I'm still relatively new to the field so my coworkers provide me with simple but meaningful assignments to get some use out of me as I undergo training. It's been chill wearing my pajamas in my bedroom and going at my work, but I still want to return to the office some day.

There's no such thing as a 100k year paying job without a degree. You want to know what happens when an employer sees your resume without a degree? Do you know where it goes?

I'm a foodboi on a bike delivering food to the rich guys who already made it. I make anywhere between $10-40/hr but average $20-25 without considering the taxes I have to pay. I've been doing it since late 2015. It's a rough job, I have to deal with nearly dying on a daily basis, freezing cold snow, hot summers, gritty rain, and hard crashes. I'm easily the lowest paid "professional athlete" there is but if it's anyone you want delivering your food, you want me as I'm one of the fastest and most reliable couriers in my city.

My life is quite modest, never got college loans, debt, or have many bills to worry about so I used to blow my money on useless shit. It was only in February I started investing because I know I can't live off riding my bike forever and it has been the best decision I've made even if it meant being extra frugal with what little extra money I find because the past month of investing has shown me that if I keep at this, I could one day live off passive income.
