Funny enough, most of these figures are selling for more than I bought them for even open/second hand. Only a few have dropped in value, so like any collectible the subjective value is what defines its worth.

There's a multitude of reasons why silver is more appealing than gold at the moment, mainly due to industrial demand, a large short position by bullion banks, it hasn't reached its ATH yet, and there hasn't been a single instance of Gold ripping its ATH without silver hitting its ATH after so it's in the bag, just who knows when it will move.
There's a lot more reasons that i'm too lazy to type up, but basically it's down to the volatility and the fact that it hasn't hit ATH yet.

Thanks guys appreciate the advice. My wife has a masters in agriculture with a bachelor's in animal science from Texas A&M so cattle ranching is her background. We know how hard it is but this is what we want to do. I'm a hard worker and have a geology degree so I'll find a way to put that to use. We want to get land asap but our worry is being able to maintain it while we get the rest of the operation going and also having something to fall back on in hard times

That immediately reminded me of a very autistic old friend of mine. He is highly intelligent but like many autists often ignored or didn't see the value in knowing things that most normies organize their life around. One day in 8th grade he said not only that he didn't know what day it was but also he wasn't sure what month it was. Surprised, I asked him to recite the days of the week and he got all 7 but with a the days mixed up. His recitation of the months in a year was pitiful however, he had no idea what order they were supposed to be and could only remember the names of 9 or 10 months. He was in the 99th percentile like the rest of us which made it that much more wonderful that he had gone so long with his unique and peculiar relationship with time and its delineation without any real problems. I made a point to drop the matter and let him continue being himself, such autism is too pure and beautiful to be messed with.
