It can't even be explained away by inflation, maybe other countries are just banking on the US being around for another 300 years and are allocating capital according to long term outlook.
I won't even pretend to understand why this bubble did not burst in 2008, the dollar should have been dropped for the yen or something, let a creditor nation run everything. But we are indeed in a bubble.
