you just can't hide the elephant in the room with other fud
because regardless of the tech, the tokenomics have nothing to do with how good it is, the seed investors could absolutely tank the market, and the devs would not give a shit, because no price discussion is allowed in the discord, and yaniv himself has said NUMEROUS times that "the seed investors took on a lot of risk believing in us early, and we don't plan on doing anything concerning the fund unlock", sooo..... all the signals point to a dump happening anon, 4 billion tokens is not a joke. any rational investor would not buy into this coin now with a long term timeframe, especially not mid-bullrun where whitepaper coins like ada are #3

>the market cap of solana was ~100mil usd and the total worth of tokens unlocked was ~300mil
so he created positive sentiment then dumped a shitton of tokens at ath sending it from 18$ to 13$
GRT? what does it have
>do not talk about price
>an indexer node needs 200k$ worth of tokens to run a node today
>4 fucking billion worth of unlocked funds
like with what fucking money or decision can you stop this? many people suggested a token burn and yaniv simply said no, and a lot of people were banned from discord and telegram for saying that kind of stuff, "early investors took a lot of risk", okay, but 3000x roi? jesus christ
i'm sorry anon, but unless something fundamentally changes about the token economics, it's actually BETTER for the tech for the token to dump in price, otherwise it will remain centralized with the ~200 indexer nodes running it
ofc this is my opinion, i could be wrong, i sold all my tokens at under 2$ myself, but godspeed anon

It's 4 BILLION grt tokens anon, valued at 8 fucking gorillion dollars right now
jesus himself could have invested in grt, and if only 10% decide to take profit out of all the investors, it means 800million dollars LIQUID gets dumped on the market, this money is so huge it can't help but trigger the prisoner's dilemma, as a SINGLE investor dumping first, singlehandedly devaluates the other investors tokens.

Unrealized rewards just means you haven't undelegated them yet. It's just so you can keep track of how much you've made delegating.
They're added automatically to your delegated stack, you don't have to do anything, compounding interests.

>otherwise it will remain centralized with the ~200 indexer nodes running it
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's a different kind of dominance. People use Facebook because that's just what everyone uses. Selection of indexers is based entirely on the quality of the indexing services. The dApp developers don't care how much delegation an indexer receives, and delegators will leave if they don't provide the desired service. If one indexer decides to put out some kind of corrupt censorship ridden Google-tier indexing, they don't collect query fees and they lose money. So no matter how much success an indexer has, it's still a decentralized system.

>> No.30051223

>>30049922
>Selection of indexers is based entirely on the quality of the indexing services
query prices too, each indexer can set them individually
>centralized system
>say ~20 best indexers selected by 80% of the network
1. massive vulnerability to DDOS, they're literally 40 servers with open IPs
2. small number of nodes (potentially owned by the same entity) = higher incentive to collude & increase query fees compared to say hundreds or thousands of nodes where competitiveness will bring down costs
3. endpoint spamming : if i'm an indexer and i know uniswap, aave, and compound are using my nodes, i have incentives to spam their dapps with requests which is basically spamming myself with free money
4. data manipulation, but its been a while since this was spoken about in the discord and idk if they fixed it, but if the top nodes collude, they can agree to return false data without either of them getting slashed
theres a lot wrong with centralization anon, look at EOS, GRT absolutely needs at least 4 digit number of nodes to reduce the load on the network and sail smoothly when projects migrate out of testnet

>DDoS
My understanding is that in order to get a connection to the server you would need an eth address with enough grt to process a request. So there's a financial disincentive to try and DDoS a service that charges you per query. The bigger issue is that graphQL allows for queries that don't ever terminate. But IIRC you can prevent that by only exposing pre defined endpoints that do terminate.

>> No.30053293

sure anon each individual node can set up their own ddos protection with fail2ban or whatever the hell, but the can be circumvented with proxies, dynamic ips..
anon the ddos problem is nothing new, you can ddos any individual btc node, eth node, and so on, but the strength of the network is in the large number of nodes running, once you have 2-3k nodes, DDOSing a single node becomes futile, and DDOSing hundreds of nodes becomes expensive
