As a general rule, the market goes up a lot more than it goes down so if you are planning on buying something, e.g. SOXL, you're almost always better off buying now rather than later. The only time you should wait is if you know a crash is coming and you know when to get in at the bottom. Nobody really knows that though. The alternative is DCA'ing but if you do that you are giving up all the gains you would have made if you went all in now. Like say you had 100k and you went in now and SOXL went up 50% in a year then crashed, you'd at least have 150,000 going into the crash. If you had DCA'd over the year with your 100k preceding the crash you'd go into the crash with maybe 120k or 130k. Either way the crash happens but the lump sum investor is still better off
